  1. Reading everyone's experience about the lap band and the "stuck" face - it's like we were all twins. I just met with a new surgeon to get my band out. I have the option to go with the sleeve or bypass. I'm glad I'm not the only one experience all the problems this piece of junk has caused me. All I can say now is don't ever go to True Results. I'm going with a top notch surgeon, and the difference is night and day.
  2. I stay away from aspartame as much as possible, and I know it will be difficult to find sugar free things that don't have it in it. I've ordered some sf jello and pudding from Amazon, but if anyone has any other sources they have tapped into please let me know.
  3. I've order some, and seriously they taste like crap. Anyone have any recipes, tips, tricks, etc? I've microwaved them for about 13 seconds, but I can't tolerate the blandness.
  4. Starting last Saturday, I noticed my band was really tight in the morning. Don't know if it's because TOM, or just a new gliche in the band. I got a small alergy pill stuck on Saturday and again onMonday - both had one or two violent struggles to get unstuck. Have any of you had this happen, and did you feel the pain of attack for days afterward? I don't think my band slipped, but it hurts to drink Water (sore esophagus/pouch?) and once my band losens up (afternoon) I can eat - I've been eating Soup or shakes.
  5. Must remember to slow down and take smaller bites .... repeat.... repeat...

Ah yes even after 6 months I still struggle with this.

  6. I've tried the Cookies & cream, brownie and the banana nut - all which failed to impress me. I have a box of the banana nut, and I will be returning that back to Quest. I have another box of one of the variety packs (I think the one with PB&J?) that I'm going to try. I'll probably be sending that one back too.

    stomach hard

Anyone else experience a hard top section of their stomach a few weeks post-op? It feels like a potato is in there, or like I'm pregnant in my stomach. Is it normal?

Maybe it is my port. I thought they put below the rib. I have my 1st follow up on the 11th. I'll ask them if that is where they put it.

    stomach hard

The area to the right, and a smudge below of my left rib
  12. Since having the surgery almost 2 weeks ago, I feel like I cannot get enough Water to drink. Anyone else experience that?
  13. Thank you! I will get some coconut water and see if that helps.
  14. It's like 5 minutes after I take a drink I get cotton mouth. It's really weird. I've always drank lots of Water, but now I feel like I haven't been drinking at all. Crazy how surgery affects people.
  15. How long did your stomach stay swollen. Mine feels hard and tender, but I'm only 10 days post-op. Just wanted to make sure this was par for the course.
  16. My actual stomach is still swollen. Don't think it's gas
  17. You may be having a gallbladder attack. I would definitely call your doctor ASAP.
  18. Anyone else feel like the stomach area has these little pinchers pinching away, or feels like tiny muscle spasms?

I had that around my major incision, once i felt my stitches desolve and pop it went away.

I figured it is the muscle healing, but didn't know if it was the norm. Worse thought is something slipped or came undone. I'll call my surgeon tomorrow to check.

GoWalking, I'm looking forward to maintenance so I can escape the scale myself. But as long as I'm trying to lose, I'd rather not find out a week later I gained 5 lbs.

i weigh only at my dr's office and i judge my loss by how loose my clothes are fitting...i buy smaller clothes (12s now i am working on getting into)...little by little i am fitting into them...that is how i judge..

  20. Did anyone eat sugar free pudding or applesauce in the first week after surgery? I have a big pill to crush and eat with something, and wanted to know if pudding was safe. I've read where it has to be Clear liquids, then I read where it says anything you can get through a straw you can have.
  21. Zoco

    Pudding?

Oh dear Lord that was nasty!! I crushed the pill and about died from the bitterness. The surgery made me break out in a shingles episode. My stomach is cramping from the cold apple juice. .... I'm just a mess today
  22. I've been banded for over 24 hours. Surgery wasn't too bad, and recovery is going great. Beef broth has never tasted so delicious

  23. Well - tomorrow is the day!!!! Don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight

  24. I did gentle yoga at my local rec center. It was nice, and it was basically stretching with a few yoga moves. See if any place has that.
  25. Six more sleeps till my band date .... I'm ready to get this going
