I chose to have the LapBand procedure by Dr. Darin Minkin of St. Louis but so far I have only had contact with his staff at True Results. Tomorrow I will set up my first Pre-Op appointment with Dr. Minkin to review my lab results and to schedule my surgery date but I am very encouraged and much more at ease after reading some of the reviews on Dr. Minkin.
I have been doing research for the past 6 months on the different types of bariatric procedures and I have opted for the LapBand. Unfortunately my employer has an exclusion for weight loss surgery on their insurance coverage so my insurance will not cover it. I am having to finance this surgery all on my own but it will be worth it for many reasons. I will be sure to post my own review of Dr. Minkin and True Results once I am further along in the process.
