  1. Hi Meganliz - I am 12 weeks post-op and certainly not an expert yet, but I also stalled at ~4 weeks post-op for 3 weeks. Didn't lose a pound during that time and it was very frustrating. I was following all the rules so, I just did what everyone on this site said...Hang in there and the scale will move again. Just your body doing some readjusting. I trusted all the VSG veterans. I did find it hard to grasp that I wasn't losing weight with the number of calories that I was consuming, but I have made it through 12 weeks and I am happy with my progress. I am sure the scale will move soon for you. You are not failing!! Good Luck!
  2. You look great! Keep up the good work.
  3. Hi cal2okl - I know what everyone says about being patient, but it is a bit frustrating. I am 6 weeks post-op and I have lost 26 lbs. I am thrilled about my weight loss, but heck, I was on full liquids for all but the last 3 days. Just started eating solid food on Friday. It just seems like the scale should be moving a little more. OBTW my surgery day weight was 221 lbs and I have not cheated at all. I saw my Dr. today and he said I am on track and the same as all the experts...be patient, follow the eating plan and the weight will come off. So that is what I am going to do. Good luck to you. I am certain that you will be successful!
  4. Hi - I am new to the sleeve, I am in my 4th week. Can someone please tell me what sliming and dumping are? Neither sound that great.
  5. Hi ShellygirlSD - I was sleeved on Oct 12th and so far no nausea for me. However, I am still on full liquids until Nov 20th, so that may change once I go to "real" food. I have my fingers crossed that it doesn't change. Hope the nausea gets better for you.
  6. Hey BrianinStPete - You should feel a little lucky…I was sleeved on Oct 12th and my Dr. is super conservative and since surgery, I was on Clear liquids for 4 days and I will be on full liquids for just over 5 weeks. My first day of food is Nov 20th. I am very tired of drinking my food! I agree I also have a nasty film on my teeth, I can't stand it either.
  7. I take 2 Children's Flintstones Vitamins per day, which was an option from my doctor. I may change later down the road, but they are good. I love them!
  8. I love your story and I plant to start reading your blog. You look fantastic. I am 58 and was sleeved on October 12th. I also have a very fit and loving husband and he has never in 20 years, mentioned my weight, but I am sure it has been on his mind. I am only a couple of weeks post-op, but I already know that the sleeve is going to be a life changer for me. I hope that I will be as successful as you in reaching my goal. I weighed 221 on my surgery date and am now at 205, so I am happy with the start of my journey. Continued good luck and good health to you.
  9. Hi Volsfan2 - I was sleeved on 10/12 and I have not had any issues so far and I am keeping my fingers crossed that the trend continues. Refried Beans are not allowed on my plan. So far, I have only tried broth, yogurt and Soup and of course the Protein drinks with no issues. I drink/eat them all pretty slowly. Hope you get better soon.
