Help me, im completely freaking out!
MAKE SURE. One of my husband's former cardiologists insisted my husband had diabetes. I kept asking him, since when???? He would not budge. But turned out he was just confused between patients.

Infection?
Well actually it has not turned out fine. The antibiotic (vancomycin) caused her to go into acute renal failure. And they had to do another surgery to remove part of the knee. Her mom actually died of hospital acquired MRSA after an angioplasty. Different hospital, different state.

Infection?
My sister had surgery recently and developed MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus...very bad). Anyone had any experience with a bad infection? This is the one thing I am nervous about.

Was I emotional or justified? Lost a friend
She sounds like a person with a lot of bitterness and negativity in general. Avoid people like that. They drag you down with them. Yes you were friends but some friends are only in our lives for a while. People change. Don't weigh yourself down in this new life with toxic baggage!

And hopefully my outlook!

This pre-op diet is so hard i fail everyday
I am near the end of my two week liquid pre op liquid diet. I cheated on day 4. But I got back on it and have been fine since. The reason I cheated is I let myself get too hungry that day. The key is definitely following your doc's plan. It's funny... I'm not even hungry anymore.

Told my coworkers
Amen Mike! I was mostly concerned about them being worried more than anything, mostly the multiple breast exams, then surgery, then weight loss and my hair falling out! I know what they would all be thinking! Especially since I recently had a precautionary hysterectomy, ovaries, etc, after our latest family ovarian cancer diagnosis. My co-worker said that he was sure I had cancer until I let them know what was up.

September 10 sleeves
Taxi will work. I haven't been in one in years! Only thing I don't like is I am supposed to use that special soap night before and that morning. Then I'll go get in a taxi. Ugh!!

So Nervous about hair loss
Oh me, too. My dermatologist said I have already lost about half my hair. I had anemia and also a complete hysterectomy (etc) and chose no hrt. So my skin is dry and my hair is falling off! This will probably finish it off! If I have to get a wig do be it... Better than dying of obesity!

September 10 sleeves
I have't weighed since on the pre-op but I feel a difference in my mobility already....

September 10 sleeves
Well, they called and want me to pay my hospital portion on Monday by credit card. Guess it's so they can cancel if I can't pay! I hope this is all worth it... Money is so tight! I have to be at Admitting Wed at 5:30am. Since I'm alone, I'm taking a taxi. They better not be late!

September Sleevers!
Sept 10 here. Three more work days! I have butterflies in my stomach like I haven't felt since I was 15.

Told my coworkers
I had no plans to do it as I guess I admit I feel a little ashamed I have not been able to "fix" myself. But I have had so many doctor appts (e.g. the mammogram turned into 2 mammograms then a breast ultrasound... Negative... Whew!) and now this surgery. A couple of my coworkers were concerned, I could tell. They were dancing around the question. So I sent them all an email and said, ok, here's the deal... I got the most loving, supportive responses a person could receive. I am blessed.

Vitamins post surgery
I am being sleeved next week. I swear my nut has probably told me this but I am on info overload. I am now on Celebrate chewables. Do I need liquid vitamins after surgery or will my chewables work? Also, I guess I need to get some liquid tylenol, right?

All Aboard...I Have a Golden Ticket!
Oh I thought of Willy too! (The old versions!) but I love Polar Express. Either way, here we go!

Favorite Vitamins
My Nut, who is big time into food purity, won't eat sugar, drink creamers, etc, strongly recommended Celebrate. I found out during lab work that I had very severe anemia. That plus an extra 100 pounds.. No wonder I felt like stomped dog doo! One month of two a day celebrate iron and my level more than doubled. She said it is very well absorbed. It is a little costly but I am sold on the products. I buy online on their site.

Victoria's Secret NSV

Bariatricpal scared me shitless
I think these are all valid points and concerns. I take comfort in the support group I attend where there are pre ops like me as well as people 4 years out. We have plenty of time for swapping stories so I feel comfortable with that. Also my surgeon's nurse is one of his 4 year vets. She meets with us and exchanges emails, answering all questions and she is very up front about her experiences. She has turkey, dressing, and pie at Thanksgiving but in small servings. I saw my mom die a slow death from morbid obesity. I have faced that I lack the skills or qualities or strength or whatever it is to lose this weight on my own. I'd prefer not to have surgery. But I am more afraid if facing what happened to my mom. Morbid obesity will kill me so I have made this choice. God bless you all, whichever path you choose.

Beautiful! Well said!
