  1. Alright I go see the surgeon on the 28th!!! What are some questions you think would be good to ask. I have some wrote down, but I'd really like to see what you guys say. I'm hoping you guys throw some at me I haven't thought of????
  2. Soooo some of you that have read my other posts knoe I've had a lot of different things going on this past year especially emotionally. This weekend my husband and I had an entire weekend for us alone! It started out really bad. He kept suggesting all these places he wanted to go and things he wanted to do like bowling, movies, etc. I really do love doing those things, but my weight always gets in the way. I don't like the looks and stares from people who glare at me as though I was a walking zombie. I don't fit in the theatre chairs comfortably anymore and I finally snapped this weekend. I finally had to break down and tell him why I kept saying no to these places. After my 20 minute crying spree and rant his eyes were the size of 1/2 dollars! He was so mad and me for holding and tell thay in and never talking to him about it! Then he just looked at me and said I get so much now that I didn't realize before. He is totally okay with this surgery and has now become my personal cheerleader! Today I feel blessed ????
  3. Too bad you couldn't find a nice big ole stick laying around to pop her in that big head of hers lol I'm kidding! I think all of us go through similar things. I have a step mom who loves to take me shopping because she wears much smaller sizes than me.... and loves to point that out. How adult/mature of her right? She's packed on a couple of pounds so last time we went she went up a size... I said hey weren't u in a 16 last time? I know I shouldn't have said that but I honestly felt better after I did I can't lie lol. I'm sure she's walking and dieting now so she can rub it back in my face, but for now I am satisfied lol.
  4. See tricare reserve select is saying 6 months diet, but when I talk to other military wives who had it done, they said they didn't have to do a diet at all. One said she went to a military hospital and other than getting tests done she had no classes, no nutritionist etc. it just boggles my mind how different everyone's experience is with it I guess.
  5. Claims not climb lol
  6. Tricare climb they do not have a full list for bariatric patients other than the little 2 paragraph one on the website :/. The doctor I'm seeing is about 2 1/2 hours away so I'm hoping they won't require too many trips. The financial part of all this scares me. My husband and I are raising 4 kids. We get by but not by much. I'm scared to death that they are gonna ask me to pay way more than I can and I will just be stuck in this body forever.... I cried the whole way home after meeting dr woodman because it was like I had so much hope there that this change would happen just to have it shot down because of how much money it was gonna take..... I'm just gonna hold out hope!!!
  7. A few years ago I met dr woodman from memphis and I was not impressed with him at all. Both times I talked to him he cut me off when I spoke, he would roll his eyes when talking about procedures, and even though I had insurance that pays he wanted 500 up front! to me unless u know 199% that a patient will pay that put of pocket u don't ask for it. After that I gave up and recently looked in Nashville. I go see Dr clements at vanderbilt on the 28th.... I'm hoping he's friendlier and won't ask me for a ton of cash up front.
  8. I don't think they see It as bullying. I really think they believe that we enjoy being this way or something
  9. I'm worried about traveling too far post op. I think I'm gonna see Dr clements at vandi
  10. A lot of these people are related to me unfortunately :/ they mean it in a constructive criticism kinda way.... that's how they say it anyway. My aunt u Is the worst about it. One of her favorite things to say, Mallory you were a beautiful child! Just darling... what happened to u dear? My answer.. I got fat? She says well dear you really need to work on that if you want your husband to stick it out with u...WTH?!?!?!? I avoid that woman at all costs ????
  11. I feel like the little engine that could lol I keep saying ok u can do this and then I see tacos and I'm like nooooooooooooo! Lol I think people don't realize people are truely addicted to food
  12. I am wanting the bypass. My bmi is outrageous and I have had family members that have amazing success with the bypass.
  13. It makes me question my ability to let things go which makes even more fears pop up!
  14. It makes me feel crazy to mourn somethin that isn't even gone!!! I catch myself and feel the impulse to slap myself for being so insane about food!
  15. Ok I am gonna sound soooo crazy here. I talked to my surgeons office and I set up my very first appt to see the surgeon. After that phone call (which was tuesday) I keep catching myself feeling stressed and snapping at people!! I feel like my emotions are so backwards! Instead of being super happy I feel like I am almost grieving food?!?! I practically bit my husband's head off that entire day and yesterday and I couldn't explain to him why. He really doesn't get my relationship with food. He is 6 ft 1 and a bean pole health nut in the military. did anyone else do this after they started out?! Am I crazy?!
  16. I was wondering if anyone on here used tricare reserve select when they got their bypass? I know what they say is required, but the phone call I made pretty much told me they don't know what they actually require. It's more of a person by person basis! I just wanted to know people's experiences with it!I see my surgeon dr clements in Nashville the 28th!!!!!

This is gonna sound crazy, but I have been dealing with yeast issues for a while now. One thing that I use to try and help control it a little is deoderant! It helps some, but it doesn't keep it away for good. I've still had breakouts, but far less painful for sure. I'm hoping once I have this surgery, that I will get my insurance to cover my plastics due to the fact I have severe issues with yeast problems already even though I shower daily and take procautionary measures :/. A girl can dream right?!
  19. The ones I'm looking at are in Nashville so it's like 21/2 hrs away :/
  20. On tricare website it sys it wants u to list things like weight watchers, Jenny craig, and doctor documented attempts. I've been on and off diets since I was 15! The diets judt arent documented on a monrhly basis! I just turned 29 and I've been over weight since 1st grade...
  21. Oh ok! Some insurances require A 6 month superived diet where u show u did not do well on it. The website says it's required, but many have said they didn't have to show that
  22. Did they require the diet part?
  23. That's one of the reasons I got on here was to see others experiences. Tricare Is a military insurance so I know it's widely used. I'm just not having much luck getting it figured all out yet
  24. Thanks Trevor mimi that mess was from the insurance company lol that's why it sucks so bad lol! If the rules are 6 months I'm so ok with that. But I keep hearing from others it's not :/
  25. I have come to realize that lol you would think that with insurance things would be pretty to the point and in black and white. They were saying so many diff things than what the website had.
