I may call my doc office. they told me that i could have chicken broth today. Does that count towards my 4 Oz an hour or do I have to still try to drink my water on top of the broth?

I finally get to join yaw in the post op world!!! I had gastric bypass on monday and my docs were impressed I can get around like I can. In all honesty I was just wanting to come home to my kiddos lol. I'm still learning I can't just throw Water back. Made that mistake yesterday where I tried to drink too much didn't feel too good . I do have a question for you vets out there: I use apple sauce to mix my crushed meds in. And a little water. How long should I wait ( hours?) Before I do the chicken broth? I'm not hungry at all the smell of food makes me nauseous actually. But I really want to do this right

I survived!!! The pain was no where close to what I expected and I'm headed home now! Thanks for everyone's support and prayers. They definitely worked!!

Today is my surgery day!!! I woke up at 2:45am.... I'm excited and scared to the point I'm nauseous... please pray that all this goes smooth with me!!!!!!

I never thought the day would come . I can not wait to go. I'm scheduled to be there at 1130!

No I'll be drivin with lots of stops between me and the kids lol. I just don't want to be the reason that everyone can't go. It's our first full family gig in years. I have 5 kids i promised thst we would get to go. I know there could be complications that are our of my hands. I was just wondering if It was even possible 14 days out if I would be "okay" for the travel. As long as there is a possibility I have hope I can make this still happen ya know?

I had to really think about if I wanted to tell people or not. I personally share my pre op experiences and my choice to have the surgery with anyone who asks. I'm the type I don't care what they think though lol. I look at it as I may be able to help someone else who is wanting to make this change or the person I'm talki ng to may know someone who needs and wants it and can help them out. I'm just open like that though. Some people are more private. It's all a personal choice.

Omg I got my surgery date and approval the other day. I'm scheduled for may 18th! I have read so many post where people went through ranges of emotions judt over the approval and I really didn't understand until it happened to me what the big deal was. I went from happy, overly excited, worried, crying from fear, back to happy, worryi ng about my kids if I should die, back to happy again all in about 3 minutes lol. This journey truely is a roller coaster of emotions... and I haven't even had the surgery yet! I can't wait until my fears are behind me and I am able to truely start living the life I knoe I'm meant to live!

We are going to gatlinburg then Myrtle Beach. Mainly some walking and seeing shows. I won't be going anywhere that I can't take a break if need be. I know I probably can't go swimming and all that, Fluid won't be a problem we have a cooler tht I pack down with Water anyway for al of us.You say fluid won't be a problem, but read the hundreds of posts on here about how much of a struggle it really is. You have zero appetite and zero desire to put anything in your mouth at all. It's like a job to keep drinking, its truly hard! Luckily I don't get nauseous like a lot of others do and mine goes down without feeling stuck again like some other feel but it's still hard work. Also expect very low energy the first couple weeks and when I say low, I mean I needed a nap after I took a shower because that was too much for me! I'm not trying to scare you or say it's not possible, just saying expect that it might not be as easy or as relaxing as you hope. Oh I meant having access to the fluid. My dad is going with me and he has had the gbp so he said he would help remind me to drink and get my Protein in as much as possible

Hi yaw! I judt got approved for surgery and got my date (may 18th)yesterday. I was soooo thrilled that I didn't stop and think about anything else. Well back in October we scheduled our family vacation for June 1st leaving on May30th!!!! I'm not worried about the food part, but the pain part. I really can't reschedule vacation because everyone has already taken off work and. I do not want to push off surgery!! Think I'll make it???

Hi everyone! I judt called my surgeon and they said the way it's looking all I have left to do is attend a support group!!!!! My 3 month diet is over, my labs, ekg, it's all over!!!!!! I am super stoked???? I'm ready for this!!!

My husband feels like he is walking on eggshells when it comes to food. He is scared he will buy the wrong thing or eat the wron g thing in front of me. It's kinda sweet that he cares. It honestly doesn't bother me as much if people eat those things in front of me. My deal is I feel like she is pushing it on me. I mean... no one should have to say no to a Swiss cake roll every single day! My mom is a junk food junky and weighs maybe 105 soaking wet... as many times and ways I have tried to talk to her I just don't think she truly gets it.... that or she just doesn't want to...
