  1. Today makes one week since my surgery. I dnt weigh at all. Only at dr appts
  2. Could be dehydration, fluids are super important ! I know I struggled a lot and still do, also you may need some salt, crazy as it sounds, drink Gatorade, add extra salt to your broth or just lick some off your hand. I think I'm waiting too long to eat between meals too... I just don't crave anything and I don't get hungry.... I guess it's time to use my alarms on my phone!
  3. Today I felt good.. then all of a sudden I got really tired, dizzy, and just felt sick all at once
  4. It's weird I feel "okay" but just drained of all energy lol
  5. I'm taking the same thing tonight. I know some people have said they only have like 2 or 3 a week... that's gonna be something to get used to lol I can't drink out of a cuo. I kept trying to gulp the water instead of sip lol
  6. I feel muxh better today! I'm still not getting alot of protein in though. By the time I get all this fluid in its like seriously?! You want me to eat?!... never ending battle lol
  7. I am 6 days post op. Yesterday I did much better with water. I literally sip 1/2 a bottle an hr except around meals.
  8. Either way I'd really look into statistics and what ur gut us telling u to do. If u have any issues with reflux I wouldn't waste time with the sleeve. I'm happy so far with my choice. My dad went from 475 lbs the day of his surgery 10 years ago to 230. And has maintained it! When they say it's work it's no joke. It feels like I am constantly trying to get fluids in.
  9. I had surgery monday and only stayed one night. Honestly u will be shocked how okay u feel to go home. It's not painless but it's not tooo painful either. It wasn't for me anyway
  10. For me the decision wasn't hard. The history was all there for me to look at and success from it was positive. I also have had several family members who had gbp and all did amazing with it. I never questioned wanting to have bypass or sleeved.
  11. I just had surgery monday the 18th and if this is the easy way out my god help those who choose the hard way!!!!! I can barely eat or drink and lack energy. I know all this will get better but when people say that this surgery changes EVERYTHING they most certainly are speaking the truth!
  12. Did they give you little ounce cups? I was told to measure my food in there for a while. Into 3 of them. They did for liquid. My paperwork says that I need to consume 1/4 cup of food over a 30 min period but it takes me alot longer than thatDo you feel full within the 30 minutes, though? I guess I would talk it over with your NUT and see what they decide would be best for this situation! Not really. I wait a bit before each bite like they said. And my bites are like baby spoon sized.
  13. I absolutely hate taking those pain meds!!! I have such a low tolerance I usually take 1/2 and it still knocks me on my butt. I think my hubs said something about I had to wait til I lose some weight before they could repairs. I thought hernias were painful though? L Not entirely sure. I just know it's in my lower stomach area. I feel no discomfort there though?!
  14. It takes me an 45 min to an hr to get down a 1/4th cup.

  16. Since I've been home from having my surgery (tuesday )my family had fried chicken, pizza, popcorn, and spaghetti... all I used to LOVE. now they make me wanna up chuck. Who woulda thunk it?!?!
  17. I literally just found out from my hubby that I have a hernia and fatty liver! The doc told me but I was so loopy I don't remember :/. Aren't those usually repaired while the bypass is done?!
  18. I had gastric bypass may 18th! I know this sounds weird but the surgery hasn't fully hit me yet. I've noticed that my doc put me on pureed foods wayyyyyy before alot of folks. I put beef stew in the blender today and it was amazing lol I stay scared that I will consume too much tho... it takes me 45 min to an hour to take in 1/4 cup....is that too much?!?!
  19. Most of the day I have felt like I got hit by a bus. I started my pain meds back up. I had gbp on monday... I also am not even getting remotely close to the fluid and protein intake they say I should be. It's almost feeling like a failure all over again....
  20. I was wondering this myself... I had gbp on monday the 18th and my paperwork said all liquids tuesday, Wednesday - Friday puree, sat- few weeks soft!
  21. I'm definately sipping. I'm so glad to know it won't stretch my pouch!!!! I was in alot of fear over that!!!
  22. Ywah I think I kinda over did it once. But I see al these people talking about how hard it is to get their fluids in and so far I think I've done decent with it. I keep catching myself wanting to grab a bottle water and taking a big ole drink. These habits are hard to break. Luckily I haven't actually swallowed a gulp. I'm still kinda sore from surgery so it's hard to tell I'd it's my pouch is too full or just aches from the surgery lol. This is definately a learning experience but one I can't afford to mess up
  23. I'm just scared of over or under doing it. First off I'm tripping over the fact that BROTH tastes good to me and that I don't feel hungry. I feel blessed that God allowed me to do this surgery!!!
  24. I had my surgery may 18th. I'm only 2 days out and I literally live in fear that I'm drinking too much. I sip pretty often but if I hear or feel my tummy gurgle I stop drinking for a while... I'm scared I'll stretch my pouch!!!! Is this normal to feel like this? Am I drinking too much or is it my head playing games ?!
