  1. @Paul. Thanks for the info. Very helpful. I know that others on this forum will appreciate it too. I can't wait to work w/True Results and start on the road to better health! Have a good evening.
  2. Glad to hear that everyone is doing well. I have my surgery scheduled for August in S.A. Tx. Can't wait!

  4. .Hi, I haven't yet had surgery. I have a physical scheduled and am researching what happens before, during, and after surgery. Just ordered the book by Alex Brecher. And yesterday I picked up a reference book called "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies". And am currently reading a book on Lap Band surgery from True Results. Does True Results just do the Lap Band? Has anyone had weight loss surgery thru True Results of Austin? What was your experience? Guess I'm a little concerned as I understand that you lose 40-50% of extra weight w/surgery. I'm 4'11" and weigh 170-172 lbs. I need to weigh around 100 to 105 lbs. So if I am only able to lose 35 to maybe 40 lbs in 12-24 months, I'm still very over weight. And I'm wondering about the expense and effects of surgery on my body for just 35 lbs. I'm probably being concerned about nothing. Any weight loss is healthy for me. I am 70 lbs overweight and I do need to make a healthy change A.S.A.P. Any advice appreciated on surgery and/or True Results info? Thanks!

  6. I like the Atkins shakes. Have protein & vitamins. And have very little carbs/sugar. Comes in 4-5 different flavors. I buy mine at HEB or Walmart.
  7. @@plopez, I have appt Wed w/True Results of Austin. Not sure when they will set up surgery. Was told that it is done in San Antonio. Thought it was funny that you will be having surgery on same day as a friend you made on this site. Maybe you two will get to meet. Wishing you both much success w/your surgeries. Keep us posted.
  8. Plopez, Are you going thru True Results in Austin? I don't know Dr Alex Esquivel. Just heard that he was affilated w/True Results. Makingchanges4me
  9. Wow. Great results and very inspiring. I'm just starting this journey. I'm in Texas and have my pre-op physical coming up soon. Not sure what to expect. My hubby is very supportive and I've just joined this forum for advice and encouragement. Thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful day, Makingchanges4me
  10. Everyone, I'm really looking forward to my WLS. I've learned that each doctor and clinic has different ways of doing pre-op. I'm going thru a clinic in Texas. After my physical, I should have more of an idea of what I'll need to do. I appreciate all of the advice. Will keep you all posted. Wishing everyone the greatest success. Makingchanges4me
  11. Junebug36, I'm getting my surgery in Texas. Sounds like each doctor and clinic has different ways of doing pre-op. Not sure when I'll have my surgery as they haven't yet done the physical. Appreciate your info. Here's wishing you the greatest results. Keep us posted. Makingchanges4me
  12. I am just starting the journey. I have a physical coming up at the weight loss clinic. Then I'll be scheduled for lap band surgery. What can I expect before the surgery? Will I need to start a pre op diet? Is the surgery painful? Can the belt be felt by touching your stomach? Does it also feel like you have a foreign object inside that is attached to you? Are the refills hard to get? Have heard that it is hard for nurse to always find the port to inject w/saline. Appreciate any advice or encouragement. This is an important step in my life. I am just unsure of what happens along the way. Thanks for any information!
  13. Hi, I'm getting ready to start the lap band journey. Will be getting my physical next week. What pre surgery diet do you have to do? Thanks for any advice.
