22 days post-op and feeling GREAT! Eating real food, no vomiting, no extreme gas pain, and I traveled alone.

This is pure awesomeness. It's shark week (ahem) here and this is first time I've not been able to drown my hormonalness in food so I was at a loss. Now I'm laughing my arse off!

Today is my 3-week surgiversary (7/1) and I'm down 42.2lbs even after the new bloat gain from my period, which started today. Eating most regular foods, listening to my body tell me when enough is enough, and so happy with my decision!

Surgery was 7/1 in Tijuana with Dr. Quinones. Since the start of my 2-week pre-op diet, I'm down 35.4lbs and 11.5 inches! 5 inches from my hips and 2 from my bust are the biggies. I'm happily eating salmon and beans and egg drop soup and other soft foods. Milagro the Mexican Wonder Tummy loves cheese and hasn't rebelled against any foods yet. After my husband and children, best decision EVER!!!!!

If you email them from their website, Quest will send you 2 sample bars for free. Your choice of flavor! Give them your name, address and bar choice as well as why you want to try them (bariatric surgery). They're super nice to work with!

I overdid yesterday and am sore and testy today. Totally my fault! No more bending over either as it hurts and I just kept working through it. Hello, listen to the body! However, Milagro the Mexican Wonder Tummy is now noshing on a Bariatric Advantage Calcium Chew (caramel) and while loud, isn't too upset. This is the first solid thing he's had in 3 weeks!!!!

I was sleeved 7/1 and no buyer's remorse at all! Small challenges like learning firsthand the wisdom of "never trust a fart" and pain where the IV was but ridiculously happy. Ready to go home and see my family!!!

Counting the minutes at this point! Did some shopping last night for those Thermacare heat pads in case I still have gas pain on the plane (flying to/from MX from the east coast) and a few other tidbits. I bought a front close, no wire bra but it's ridiculously uncomfortable (44DDD) so it's going back. I'll just be uncomfortable in my underwire bras, thanks.

Day 7 for me here and while I'm bored and would really like some Pasta, I'm chugging along. I made homemade cream of chicken Soup last night and it was a lovely treat. Too much sodium and fat for a regular meal but such a fabulous change of pace from blah and bland.

I'm on Day 5 and am becoming addicted to the Premier Protein ready-made shakes. Crystal Light Liquid is my other favorite to keep guzzling the water. I'm down 19.6lbs so it's worth it - go July 1st team, GO!

They're making the Facebook group secret tomorrow, just wanted to give everyone a chance to get in before it became harder to do so. No one can see what you posted right now, but they can see that you did. There's a setting you can change on FB to stop that for every group - thanks to the sleever that shared it. Now no one sees any of my groups, secret to public.

Hi, all! I started my liquid pre-op diet today (a day early) and I'm surprised at how well I'm doing, and then again, it's harder than I thought. I was putting dinner together for my family and kept reaching for a piece of bread or a baby carrot or thinking about chips and salsa later tonight and then.. ummmm.... NO. This is weird.

July 1st sleever too and I ordered bunches of protein powder samples from the various websites recommended on this site. I've been easing into the meal replacement by having 2+ shakes and then a good meal and really enjoy the Premiere Protein shakes from Costco. I prefer chocolate to the vanilla right now. Excited to start trying my samples too!
