I AM BAD....OPINIONS.
Then he'll swing the other way and be oversolicitous (to your hormonal self) with "where can we go where you can eat too?" and you'll want to cream him because he should know by now that you can find something to eat anywhere! The poor man won't be able to win, trust me

I'm a drinker....a gulper...a 4 glass kind of drinker during meals....
Diet Coke tastes nasty to me now. I can't stomach even a tiny swallow - yay! I can do about 3-4 swallows at a time. Any more than that and it's uncomfortable. Your body will let you know how much you can do at one time and it'll change. Still no drinks during meals, other than an occasional sip. It's been the hardest thing for me to get used to as I was a meal drinker like you!

My 1997 size 12 vs. 2014 size 12 jeans (with pic)
Pre-op, I was a Lane Bryant size 26/28 since 1987 and weighed 201 then, and 318 in 2014. Granted, just pre-op they were a little tight and I needed that lycra but REALLY?

Free never worn bras: 42D, 42C, 38D
So nice of you! I don't need them but your post made me smile.

Excess skin - warning photos
Thank you so much for sharing! I'm only 9 weeks post-op and already thinking about when and what if. Seeing it helps!

Last minute meal help
I swear by marinated chicken breasts from a nice grocery store. Slap that thing on the Cuisinart Griddler (George Foreman, whatever) and 6 minutes later I have enough for salads and by themselves and so on. I love my crockpot too!

post op hotel
I traveled alone (my choice) and my husband "insisted" on me staying an extra night, just in case. I could've easily gone home on schedule but it was worth it for his peace of mind.

"In between" sizes . . . . grrr
Another one who didn't see clothing sizes start to change until nearly 60lbs lost! Can't wait to be out of plus sizes so the numbers will change faster

I Don't Want to Buy New Clothes In Plus Sizes
Our Goodwill is NASTY. I need to explore other areas, LOL!

too many calories?
1000 - 1200 is my goal, I've hit 1500 once and usually it's between 900-1000. I have trouble getting more calories than that if I'm not eating higher carb or just too much in general.

The ol' straw debate. Do you use one?
I was handed a juice box 2 days post-op and though I don't usually use a straw, I have no problem doing so. I tend to drink really fast with a straw and suck down too much air, just like I did pre-op

Could use some help for my Fiance...She had her surgery last night.
I'm 8 weeks post-op, everything went really well, and I still have issues with plain water. Something about the surface tension and needing an additive of some kind - so Crystal Light, True Lemon/Lime, and trying broth might help her now. I didn't have issues with temps much but in the early days, warm was most most welcome!

How far out did you start eating...
I started eating regular foods about 4.5 weeks out. I'm just shy of 8 weeks post-op now and eat everything on your list and have been. I still don't eat many bread-y carbs like tortillas and such but can tolerate them now. They do sit heavy in my stomach though if I have more than a bite or two.

JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
That doesn't sound like enough calories to me, especially if you're doing any exercise at all. How's your water intake? What about veggies?
-
Tell me your FAVORITE post op 'meal' **regular foods**
We're doing lots of lean meat, fish and SALAD! Don't forget your veggies and only look at protein.

JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
Try upping your calories (good food) for a few days and see what happens. If my caloric intake drops, my weight loss stalls.

JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
Baby lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots = no problem at all. Sprinkled with feta and a good quality balsamic vinegar is HEAVEN! I was craving salad something fierce. I'm eating between 800-1000 on a regular day, getting all water and protein + healthy veggies, bike & treadmill 5+ days/week, and am down 50 lbs since pre-op.

Hydroflask! Ice cold drink all day :)
My favorite things! We have several for the family and use them every day.

What was your favorite thing to eat in the "pureed" stage?
Another vote for refried beans! Added Greek yogurt and taco sauce to mine, plus a scoop of Protein powder and a tiny bit of broth to thin if necessary. I'd even eat it cold

Canada to Mexico for WLS
Not from Canada but I went to Mexico as well, about to be a month post-op.
