  1. After 10 days I find myself very easily nauseous. I also have very little stamina. It's hard to get these walks in. I am SO thirsty that all I crave is Water. The last few days have been OK but still nauseous every day. Today is particularly bad because I also had a migraine. UGH! Anyone else having nausea and stamina issues this far out?
  2. Do your best on drinking. But I'm 10 days post op and it's still not easy. I bought that New Whey stuff from the Vitamin Shoppe. They are little tubes. They are really sweet. But one little bottle is 42g of protein! I like it because shakes sre reaaly getting old.
  3. Ice worked well. But I finally got so nuts at night that I put sunburn lotion on since it has lidocaine! My incisions look great. And boy do I feel better! I'm 9 days out now and it's not nearly as bad. If they used surgical glue, that's what's itchy. That stuff finally came off yesterday!
  4. So glad to hear you got some answers and help! Stick with us...support is everything.
  5. OK, I need the help of those who rock this site! I figured out how to post a topic, how to put a picture in, I even created my ticker! How do you attach your ticker to your replies? I love seeing others! They are really motivational. Thanks!
  6. I had the same feeling when I got home last Friday night. I'm still aggravated that I'm tired and not able to eat a lot. But I assume it gets better. I thought I had lost my mind doing this just 2 days ago. The pain and the nausea and the protein! But now I know that I just have to take it slow. I'm better every day. You'll be great!
  7. There is no "time limit". Your body will adjust as it should. Weird of them to say such a goofy thing!
  8. Just had mine done June 9th. I stayed in the hospital 3 days because of the pain and nausea. I ate a MAX of 1oz. at a time. It's still hard. But after 9 days it's a little better. Still don't get all the Protein in that my doc would like to see. And, yes, I still hurt some. Pulled my tummy big time last night when my pillow escaped the bed. But I totally agree ... ask for pain meds! It's your right to be comfortable. I had one bad RN in the hospital tell me "You know you're not going to feel 'comfortable' for quite awhile. What a -----! I work in healthcare and one of my BFFs is a pain specialist. NEVER let anyone dictate your pain. Talk to your doctor. You'll never want to do what's expected of you if you are in constant pain. Best of luck!
  9. I'm looking forward to just putting a swim suit ON! You look great! Congrats!
  10. I wasn't restricted at all post op. Go feel fresh and just be careful not to scrub your surgical sites too hard (assuming they did it laparoscopy).
  11. Are you taking deep breaths A LOT. That and walking and staying upright as much as comfortable. You don't want to end up with pneumonia! And don't hesitate to call your local doctor. They may want to do blood work. Hope you feel better quick!
  12. I'm 9days post op and am FINALLY feeling like I can put stuff in my new tummy! Not much, mind you. But better than the last 8days when I couldn't even get water to stay. I'm still burpy and gassy. But I found that as long as I sit up for good 30 minutes, it actually feels OK. Hope everyone else is doing well! Have a great weekend coming up.
  13. I know. I'm holding back! But I hate feeling so thirsty. I'm gonna try ice chips.
  14. Just got back from a long walk. I'm THIRSY!
  15. G2 is great but I can only sip. Lord knows I want to gulp! I'm a big water drinker and I love G2. Sip sip I go.
  16. I'm 8 days out and STILL are having trouble eating! Protein shakes are even hard. My nurse jyst says do your best but I still worry.
  17. Stay off that scale! Only step on once a week. You'll feel better that way. But, yes, losing weight with the pre op diet is weird. Especially when you have support people questioning why you can't just eat like that everyday. Ugh! Too late now because I've had the surgery and moving on!
  18. What an awesome video that gentleman made! Honestly didn't think of it that way. But now the question becomes...what if food is stuck in your throat or mouth? I guess I won't be eating much oatmeal!
  19. June 3rd for me and I have A LOT to learn. We are so lucky to have this forum to talk!
  20. I am feeling so tired and weak. I know it has to due with not eating and drinking like "normal". But seriously, I have to keep getting up and walking outside. I hate making excuses. But I'm being honest. My tummy is constantly feeling bloated and I still hurt quite a bit. It'll all get better I know. Just need to rant to people who have been though all of this. What a crazy ride!
  21. Walking has even gotten hard. I'm so weak and have such horrid constipation! I'll be glad I get more variety after next week. Not to mention the weather in Chicago has been yucky. I used MOM today and it worked some. Just feel icky and gassy. Makes it hard to drink what I should.
  22. Thank you! Hope I can eat/drink better after!
  23. I'm 8 days out and have lost only 6lbs. I stared at 212lb but was 200 at surgery because of the liquid pre op diet. But my doctor made it very clear that most people do not lose any weight the first few weeks. He said is definiately from all the fluids. Don't be discouraged! I'm convinced that next week will be better. Remember not to weigh yourself every day. Pick one day and stick to it. Otherwise you'll make yourself crazy.
  24. Anyone else having this problem. I'm using Colase religiously! Makes it twice as hard to get my nutrition requirements. I was told to use Milk of Magnesia. Fingers crossed! I am miserable!
  25. That allergic reaction sounds similar to what I had after my sleep study. Luckily, the hydrocortisone cream is helping a little. Thanks for all the replies!
