  1. Congratulations to you! Everyone that knows me had known for years that I wanted the Lapband. I am very public about it and most people are supportive. Proud of you!
  2. Listen, if we could eat like we had a Lapband without having a Lapband we all wouldn't be here! Dont be too hard on yourselves!
  3. I understand your worry but I can promise you it's true, you will lose the desire for certain foods.. I never realized how sluggish diet drinks and sugar made me feel. When you start taking it away from your diet you will feel so much better!
  4. I was told to take 2 chewable Flintstones vitamins a day.. Haven't had to deal with a big Holiday yet.
  5. Best of luck to you! Wishing you the best. I personally drink a little with meals. Not a lot but enough to help swallow. Hasn't been a problem for me. In fact there are studies that say it's OK. Of course always ask your Dr.
  6. Wow..your story brought tears to my eyes. You've been through so much. You must feel abandoned by your Dr! I am so sorry about all the problems that you have had. I pray that you seek and find the help that you need. I know from my health problems that some drs get on an ego trip and it hurt his feelings that another Dr found a problem. My advice is to consult with other physicians. I'm sending you a lot of love and prayers! God bless you!
  7. That's what I love to see!!! So happy for you. Its such an amazing feeling when you know its really about to happen!
  8. Congratulations! You will find a lot of friends and support here! Wish you both the best!
  9. Congratulations! Glad that you are feeling so well. Sounds like you are off to a great start!!!
  10. Well I'm sorry to say that for most people it take a few to several fills before you start feeling that way.. For now just try to limit your intake. Sounds like you are doing well.
  11. I know you are!!!!
  12. Same thing happened to me last week. Called the nurse and she had me go back to full liquids for 3 days. Feels much better now.
  13. Lol I know.. Try this one..went to IHOP with the bf, asked for 2 plates. Waitress didn't like that at all!!!
  14. I am surprised too! I took them a few years back.. Gained all the weight back plus some. Its a very dangerous drug. You should be cautious of it.
  15. It will work! Good luck to you!
  16. Mine lasted a week or so. Walk and alternate heat and ice, that's what helped me. Will be over soon.
  17. I did grits on week 3...
  18. I Dont chew gum because I have a habit of swallowing it!!
  19. Idk..I can't say not to listen to your Dr. All I'm saying is what mine says.. My opinion is that its too soon but that's just my opinion. Listen to your body, if you have problems you can always go back to full liquids. I had to do that 3 days last week myself.
  20. I second what she just said.. Day by day it will get easier. I know that you are ready for the taste of real food. My post op instructions were like yours and I would read where people were allowed food so much sooner than I was. I thought what the heck? That's not fair! But after it was all said and done I am so glad that my Dr was as strict as he was. Your body needs to heal and a few short weeks is so worth the sacrifice for the reward that you will get. We all make mistakes. You will make more! The good thing is that you recognize it and are changing it! Congratulations on your surgery. Best of luck to you and God bless!!!
  21. That is true..Also the psychiatrist may or may not approve you. Or they may require multiple visits. I have many health problems, cardiomyopathy, fibromyalgia, how can a person not become depressed when they are overweight as well! I take medicine for depression and anxiety . I was open and honest during my psyche eval and he signed off on it. I think if its being treated and your honest you should be OK. As previously said this is a huge life changing decision. The wls will not work as well for you unless you are prepared to make the changes . It took 3 years before I was sure that I could do it. I pray that all will go well for you.
