Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!
I am tentatively scheduled for October 20th as well. My close friends and family know, as well as my manager. I can understand your concern about failure. But I have decided that I can no longer accept the status quo and need to make a leap of faith. Luckily one of my dearest friends had this same surgery about a month ago and that helps me get a glimpse of what's to come. I am hopeful.

Best NJ doctors list? And why?
I am using NJ Bariatric Center, Dr Goya and Dr Montes. I was recommended there by my PCP. They have been wonderful during the pre-op process. What impresses me most is that they take the time to sit and answer any questions. No rush, no attitude.

NJ BARIATRIC CENTER
I am about halfway through my 6 month supervised pre-op with njbc. The surgeons I am working with are Dr Leigh Montes and Dr Goyal. So far I find them and the staff to be caring, professional and knowledgeable. Hope that helps! Laynie

My 6 months started with the first visit to the bariatric center. But if you have documentation of weight monitoring etc with your pcp, sometimes that can be accepted. Laynie

New Jersey Sleevers?
No date yet. The surgeon told me at my appt Friday that they will plan a date for about 2 weeks after my 6 month appt. So I am thinking end of October, early November. Laynie

@@msjoy83 I am going through NJ Bariatric as well. I am 5'8 and 379 lbs. I am about halfway through the 6 month waiting period required by my insurance UHC. At first I was annoyed by the wait, but now I see i need that time to get ready mentally for this change! Laynie

It's the little things...
I am just starting the process to have surgery but I already have a list of "little things". I look forward to painting my toenails, tying my shoes without an act of congress, fitting into amusement rides, fitting into airplane seats, riding a bike, taking a spin class, I could go on and on Laynie

UHC Oxford 6 month waiting period
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any success in getting the 6 month supervised diet period waived? The idea of waiting 6 months and then waiting for a date is excruciating but my concern is more than that. I do not know how long I will be at this job (and thereby my insurance coverage) and would love to move forward asap. Any thoughts? Thanks Laynie
