Peanut Butter
You should try PB2. It's a powder in the peanut butter section and I think you'll like it.

Medic Alert
Sorry, I'm off base being from the RNY world but yes I wear the bracelet.

Not fun
That sucks. I would throw the new scale out and keep the old one. Who's to say your new scale is right.

Valdosta, GA
Hi everyone, I'm glad there's fellow WLS patients in the area. I had my RNY done in Gainesville, Florida because there wasn't anyone here to do it. I was told by my PCP early in 2014 that Valdosta no longer has a weight loss surgeon. My only problem with not having surgery here was that I ran into complications about 7 days after the surgery and had to be transported back to Gainesville for the recovery. I was lucky insurance covered everything but alas my families hotel bill wasn't.

How long before you were discharged after surgery?
Four days for me but that was because I lived over 100 miles from the hospital and the doctor wanted to make sure there were no complications.

Plateau
I'm at a stall too. It's been two weeks. I'm watching the scales like a hawk but I'm patiently waiting it out because it will eventually start going down again. I'm not going to change a thing in what I'm doing either. I see everyone try everything possible to start it going again and it looks like when your body is ready it'll start going down when it wants to.

Question
Nothing different from me other than feeling real good.

How Many Guys Are On This App
Hey kflackler, I'm 61 and had the big RNY last August. Yeah, I can see why you would worry, but like my doctor said all surgery has its risk. I was one that even had problems but would I do it again, hell yeah. Do it and enjoy life again.

Premier Protein Shakes.........
I get my premier Protein drinks at Sam's club because I don't have a Costco near me.

SLOW LOSER
I'm at 4 months too and in a major stall. I care that my rapped lose has slowed but I look at it like this and it's simple math. If you are burning more calories than you're taking in it has to equal weight loss.

My name is Amy and I'm a sugar addict
Amy, your story scares me. I love sweets too. I haven't tried what you did yet but there may come a day. My pouch right now doesn't allow much sugar or fat but that's from the processed foods I eat not from sweets. Oh God, I just hope that when or if I try it I get sick. Best of luck to you and keep me updated here on you trials and tribulations.

August 2014 gastric bypass check in.
My calorie intake varies from day to day but it's mostly under 900 calories. How about your calorie intake? I don't exercise much because of a bad back so it's all on what and how much I eat. I expect, hope (fingers crossed) to be at my goal weight without to much trouble. I'm in a stall now too and anxiously waiting for the scales to start moving again. How long has yours lasted?

Total TMI
My first and second BM I felt like I had to dig it out with a spoon because of the time between each movement. I now take Miralax everyday and I don't have anymore problems.

August 2014 gastric bypass check in.
Has time been flying by. I'm still learning my new pouch. I still get Diarrhea about twice a month from to much sugar or fat. I have a very low tolerance to both and I don't always see the trouble coming. Other than that I feel great. My pants sizes are shooting down so fast I have only one pair to wear. I just went under 200 pounds, which to me was a milestone. I love the changes and I see I carry myself proudly. I hope everyone else is seeing the same thing I am and the best of luck in reaching you goal.
-
Guys, what do you consider your ideal pants size ?
I'm now down to a 38 but it's not small enough. I'm 5'10" and now weigh 199 with a goal weight of 165. I think when I hit that weight my waist size will be somewhere in the 32 to 34 range. So that's my answer.

Regret?
Victoriam, if you're asking me you should be able to see my information on the Internet under Bariatricpal.com. But I should let you know progress in weight loss is so varied from individual to individual that there is no average to depend upon. You're on a good site to read everything you can on dealing with weight loss surgery. Best of luck in your research.

Regret?
4 months out and also no regrets. It's great watching the scales drop.

Discouraged Already
Ijenkins, I sorry to see this also. I had RNY and we try to only give support and external strength to each other.

Popsicle warning for those newly sleeved
I'm an RNY'er but I've been eating these since after the surgery and they don't bother me at all. Perhaps this should just be a general informative warning.

Why Do So Few BP Members Have Weight Tickers?
Hi Krisrpaz, My wife and I like him a lot. He was straight forward about the surgery and the risk involved. I had to drive down to Gainesville Fl to get my WLS done since Valdosta Ga doesn't have a doctor here. Dr Brient keep me a few extra days to be sure everything was good to go. Still, a couple days later I had to go back because of internal bleeding. I'm sure it wasn't a problem in the surgery but me that caused the issue. I now drive down every few months to get my checkups. He shouldn't be working to much longer though. You know he's in his mid 70s now.

Why Do So Few BP Members Have Weight Tickers?
I agree with you too. My issue is the BP app. You can't see the ticker using it so I end up switching back and forth looking if there's one. Congratulations on your weight loss so far. It looks as though we had WLS the same month. Best of luck to you.

Pants size
I've been enjoying my pants size drop and I'm wondering what size I'll be at when I hit my goal weight. I'm 5'10" and my goal weight is 165. My pants size has already gone from a 48 to a 38 and with each new size I buy one pair of cheap pants. I can do this because I'm retired and don't have to go out every day. If you have an idea let me know.

Crappy Subject
The same thing happened to me but I got very weak on day 7 and when I went to the emergency room I was admitted for internal bleeding. Not trying to scare you but if you are bleeding it's very serious.
-
Alcohol?
I wouldn't and I won't even though I was a big drinker before WLS.

For those on track, what do you eat in a typical day?
For me on canned chicken I just drain the water most of the time but I sometimes add zesty honey mustard into it. As for Tuna Creations it's a bag StarKist product. I like the Sweet & Spicy flavor.
