  6. Hi nate! Yes I do recommended Dr Gruner.. He's just awesome... Very informative very understanding bedside manner is incredible... He communicates directly to you himself... He performed my VSG August 25th 2014.. Wouldn't change a thing...
  7. I'm a 36 year old African American sleever... And honestly I've experienced some of the same after effects after my sleeve that others have. I think in general the weight loss /after effects depends on the individual..it's alot of factors to consider when comparing the two...I was sleeved August 25,2014... And it has been and continues to be a journey.. Good luck to you

  13. Hello all Soooo off topic but why are protein shakes so freaking nasty!!! Anyway I am down 6 dress sizes since my VSG.. I was crying uncontrollably in the stores dressing room.. I'm so happy I made this decision....
  14. Karen Scott I just saw my surgeon... And I told him that I haven't been getting on the scale because I didn't want to worry and stress about my weight.. He told me that was great because it's too much with all my restrictions... Then he also said to listen to what people say around me and embrace all the positive energy.. He said if I wanted to weigh myself do it twice a month.. Hope this helps you.. Good luck on your journey
  15. Wow ur mixture sounds awesome... I've been doing blended veggie drinks for protein....the cereal has 9g protein 8g fiber 500mg ALA OMEGA
  16. So I saw surgeon on Friday. I'm down 38lbs since 8/25 surgery... And I hate protein drinks.. So I bought this cereal(kashi go lean crunch) and I'm telling you combined with unsweetened almond milk I'm loving it.. Serving size is 2/3 cup and I can tolerate half of that and I'm full...
  17. Metamucil didn't work for me.. A share with green veggies did the trick
  18. GalaxyGirl yesss...it amazes me some people are even eating salads and my doctor said no.. A girlfriend of mine had the rny 10 years ago and she said at this stage she couldn't even eat beef.. I tolerate meat very well but it has to melt in my mouth which is how I cook it anyway... I can't do rice or pasta or many starchy thing I've decided to stay away from bread completely maybe just do grain wraps. But I'm still learning I wanna try making lettuce wraps as soon as my surgeon gives it a go.. In definitely gonna get myfitnesspay thank again for your support.. You rock!!!
  19. Motherof5 trust me when I say I read every label of everything that I've been consuming lately.. The 28g of sugar is per serving and the sugars come from the fruits.. And seeing as how I just took a couple sips I did OK.. I belong to other blogs and people are drinking wine and eating pork belly at this stage.. And me I'm just tryna get back regular lol.. I make homemade smoothies all the time.. I just posted this picture of this drink because it really did help me... Not an every day thing for sure.. I do however appreciate your advice.. And please know that I'm not trying to mess myself up I've worked and I continue to work on a daily harder than I ever had to in my life to obtain all the benefits from my sleeve...
  20. I swear I've tried it all. . hope it works twinmommiesrock Keep me posted...
  21. Motherof5 I've been having horrible issues with constipation.... And I think it was you who recommended using green veggies in my smoothies but anyway... I've tried everything miralax, milk of mag, prune juice, suppositories (sorry tmi) but nothing helped.. I bought this today from Walgreen's... It has kale, broccoli, spinach just a bunch of stuff and it tastes better than it looks trust me.. And it has protein as well.. And honey I drank less than half the bottle and it sent me in....
  22. My body is finally getting used to my sleeve.. Thank you Jesus... this drink has helped me lots
  23. I have been living off of fresh oranges... Sliced I cut all the strings off and just eat the inside... Lol yummy... Finding my way I guess.. I can't tell you all the last time I ate a full meal.. Oh well.. SHRUGS!!!
  24. Motherof5 thanks.... I'll try the green veggies addition....
  25. Motherof5 no it's not I actually don't think I'm eating enough.. I have no appetite.. And when I do eat it's four bites and I'm through... Been relying on protein shakes... For nourishment
