  1. Today was best day so far. I was able to get my liquids and protein in, yeah! I'm down 5 lbs since surgery on the 9th and down 12 since preop. I went shopping for the first time today, just for an hour or so... Came home and took a nap:) I'm lucky so far, no head hunger. My husband has been great, he will be sleeved hopefully next month. be good to yourselves, each day makes us stronger
  2. Using small pillow against the incision helps when getting up and down( even from a recliner) just hold it against the area that hurts and then move. use the pain meds and nausea meds. Each day has gotten better for me. Fluids are a challenge. Best of luck
  3. Day 3 post op- gas pain is much less this morning. Not sleeping through the night yet, getting about 4 hours at a time. Gonna try sleeping in my bed tonight( I've been in recliner since coming home) focusing on protein and liquids today. Walking, walking, walking... I haven't stood on the scale yet, weighing once a week, so I will weigh on Monday. I know at the hospital they gave me a ton if fluids, so I'm not counting my weight at discharge. how are the June 9 the folks doing? Are you all home? How's your pain/ intake going ?
  4. I just keep sipping on water, protein drinks, broth. I haven't hit my goal yet but I keep trying
  5. I always slept on my stomach, I can't to that right now. Lying flat pulls on my incisions. The recliner is most comfortable for me. You can use pillows to prop yourself up or to keep from turning onto your incisions
  6. Day 2 postop. I came home yesterday. I have walked every few hours. Still have gas pain in my left side and left shoulder. Taking hydrocodone liquid for pain relief. The biggest incision hurts esp when I get up and down. I also had a hernia repair( surprise!) the pain is less than I imagined. I have slept a lot today. Trying to get liquids in. Sip, walk, rest that's my current mantra. I decided to sleep in recliner with lots of pillows. Hopefully tomorrow will be better, one day at a time! I hope everyone continues to improve with each day
  7. Walk, walk, walk. I was sleeved on the 9th. It helps the most
  8. Sorry you ladies are having a tough go of it. I found the morphine did little for my pain. They gave me toradal and zofran last night and it really helped. One is for pain and one is for nausea. I also took Ativan( anti anxiety) which helped me rest for about 4 hours. I'm at home now, sipping and walking. Hopefully you will feel better with each day
  9. Got sleeved yesterday at 730am, had to have a hernia repair( I didn't know I had a hernia). Gas pain bad last night, ice and gas drops made me nauseous. Walk, walk,walk... Take the pain meds and anti nausea meds. Good luck
  10. Room temp clear liquids are much better for my new tummy. Pain/ nausea are better. I may be going home this afternoon
  11. Surgery yesterday. Some gas pains last night, got up and walked. Feeling better this morning. Ice chips make my sleeve unhappy
  12. Good luck jenny! I was sleeved yesterday. Feeling better this morning. Get up and walk when you can, it really helps
  13. I'm sleeved! I had a hernia repaired, didn't know I had a hernia. Nausea was bad this morning right after surgery. Pain... Yeah it hurts some. I have walked twice and that made me feel better. I have a PCP with morphing in it. Been sleeping off and on all day, how's the rest if the June 9th folks?
