    June Sleevers!

On average I consume anywhere between 500-800 cals/day. And I'm STUFFED!! I find that drinking a lot of water is part of the weightloss key for me. I try to keep carbs < 40 & protein around 60-70. I am loving my sleeve!
  4. that's great to know! It seems that upping my D3 & walking has helped a bit. did that simultaneously so not sure if increase is from one or both.

So funny, I never was a big cottage cheese fan , but now I crave it constantly. Protein shakes, cottage cheese, & Oikos Triple Zero have become my staples. Had small spinach salad with tomato for dinner, was so surprised how quickly I filled up. So far it's sitting well.

Way to go shugarhey! Welcome to the Loser's Bench!
  7. oh sorry; I meant when I walk up to our 2nd & 3rd floors. That's all! I was able to walk up a flight of stairs or two by the time I came home. It just makes me so tired!
  8. Whew it's good to see so many tired peeps! ???? My surgery was June 18 & it's all I can do to walk up the stairs without feeling like I'm going to pass out, but it seems every day gets a tiny bit easier. Getting all my Protein & really working hard on the Water. (it's not as easy now! gulp gulp) I find that I am definitely more tired on days that I don't drink as much water. I'm also taking my bari vits 2x day per dr instrx. I've been tempted to have coffee but surgeon says not yet. ????

@ yep I think I know who you mean. If you can get thru to the office manager (I think her name is Lisa or Linda?) she may be able to light a fire for you.

    Travel Home from Mexico

I had a similar day on the way home; I flew out of Richmond, VA. My surgery was on 6/18; I flew home on 6/22. I had a 2hr layover in Atlanta of which I am thankful. I was very uncomfortable on the way home, & I had a BMI of 40. They cram us in there like sardines! I strongly recommend a neck pillow (shaped like a C) & a small pillow for your tummy. If there's ANY way you could get in first class, I'd do it! I knew it would be uncomfortable, but I guess because of swelling it was tougher than I imagined. I'm so sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but I was miserable. I'm a pretty tolerant person! I could not fall asleep; I hope you have better luck. I know there are bazillions here that did not mind their trip home. Good for them! If I go back for plastics it will be first class or I'll drive myself!

    A blessing or a curse?

ugh...I'm in the middle of a dumping bout right now...first time, will never ever ever do this again! my own fault, I should know better. I had a small amount of plain high protein spaghetti with a little bit of butter. I think I ate too much too fast. Oye!

    June Sleevers!

Hi Fritochip! btw I love Fritos! Was my go-to munchy. I was sleeved 6/18. I feel fine with no pain or nausea, but I am very tired most of the time. Getting all my Protein, liquids, & Vitamins. Friday is pizza night at our house & it smells really good but I have no desire to eat it. Yay! That's a first for me! I could put down a few pieces without a 2nd thought.

    Flight to Mexico

What is your BMI? I'm 5' 7.5" & weighed 254 on the way to MX. I was fine with one seat & the seat belt fit me fine. I was very uncomfortable on the way home because of a bit of swelling. If you're on a pre-op diet then you will likely lose a few pounds by then.

    June Sleevers!

8 days out. Is it normal to be so tired? I walk up a flight of stairs & feel like collapsing when I get to the top. Getting all my protein, liquids, vitamins etc. I've been sleeping the best I've slept in years!
  15. rainnie1976 he was great! his team of docs are very attentive. I have no complaints. did you go thru BLW?
  16. I had surgery June 18 @ HATJ with Dr. Rodriguez. They kept me in hospital for 2 nights. I stayed in a hotel in San Diego for 2 extra nights because I was worried about DVTs/PEs during flight back so soon after surgery. They gave me compression stockings, which I wore for flight. Getting up to walk during flight was next to impossible, as we were packed in like sardines! But I'm alive & well, no complications 6 days out.

@chiness66 I was scared too but it's all ok. I was worried that the worst possible scenario would happen to me. I can't believe how good I feel.

    approved after 2 denials!

No, they were not able to help me. As a matter of fact, I am in Tijuana right now...had my sleeve yesterday. I just could not wait any more! The Ls are very nice people but there were long periods of time without communication so I went ahead to Mexico. My health was detiorating & I had to do something. Good luck! You'll be fine. i am sure my case was the exception and not the rule.

    June Sleevers!

Hi all! Surgery was yesterday. I didn't feel too great after I woke up, the pain was pretty bad (almost in par with my C-section), & I vomited a little blood but I feel AMAZING today! Because I traveled ystdy was a very long day, so I went into surgery pretty darn crabby because I had been up since 2am Thurs morning. But I feel so much better now. Hotel Angeles is a great hospital; I'm so glad I had it done here. Nicest nurses and docs.
  23. Good luck @ SharonTX! I'll be there tmrw. keep us posted!

    June Sleevers!

@@chines66 I have fears too but I know the chance of something bad happening is very, very slim. At my age, my health (physical & mental!) would be more at risk if I DON'T get the surgery. My surgery is tmrw; I'm having "do I really want to do this" thoughts at times, but I've waited for so long & jumped thru so many insurance hoops, that I am finally tired of waiting & VERY excited, and yes, a teeny bit anxious. I deserve to be healthy & happy, and so do you! ????
