  2. Who isn't afraid of failure? We're all here for the same reason. I also, am not telling many people about wls . I also have a family member who has had the sleeve, lost about 50 pounds the first 6 months, has about another 40 to go, but is starting to regain. It's just a tool for us to help us. We are still accountable for what we do with it! Good luck to all!
  3. @ sweet baby why wouldn't you be able to have steak ever again? I have two friends that had this surgery, and they both eat steak. They both say that steak and other meats are more tolerable. They both over a year out, but don't worry, you'll have steak again, maybe. It right away , but I would think after some time, you should.
  4. June 9 is getting closer! Started the 2 week liquid diet Monday , it's Wednesday and I'm already down 4.5 lbs, it's hard though.
  5. Some great ideas ladies! Thanks! I love the little get away idea, I'm going to definetly use that - great way to explain things using the "tutor " with math, too. Makes sense.
  6. Thanks all for some great advice it's nice to know there are supporters on here! I think she'll be ok with this , I do believe she's nervous, but won't admit it. I'm not telling to many people at all, I would hate for her to feel embarrassed ! I have told her this is my decision, and I'm the adult . I think it maybe gives her loss of hope that she can lose weight on her own? I mean I'm talking 10 pounds she could lose ... Thanks again for the support!
  7. My 13 year old daughter is very mad at me for deciding to have this surgery. I think it's maybe more of her being envious that I'm having it. (Not that she even needs it, ) but we try to work out together and eat healthy whenever we go out.We get along fairly well--As far as 13 year olds go. I wish I have never told her about this. One of the many reasons I'm doing this is for my children .i want to be active with them , and not embarrass them. I know in the long run , my daughter will be fine with this, but for now, I'm getting major attitude! She thinks I'm cheating, and taking the easy way out! Anyone have some advice for me? I want this to be a positive experience and I want to have this resolved before my surgery.
  8. You told the story of so many so very well, I actually cried, you described my own world so much ,I totally relate , thank you for the inspiring words, makes me realize how much I need to do this, can't wait!
  9. Today I begin my 2 week liquid diet. And I'm kind of sad, because of obvious reasons, my love of food, and today being Memorial Day, yet another holiday which gives me an excuse to eat a lot of crap. But in the past month ,since I've known that I'm having thus surgery, I have pigged out on everything to the point that I put on 8 more pounds! So, today, I'm embracing my new lease on life, and I hope these two weeks go fast, and I hope I can get through with no cheats! Good luck all you pre op liquid dieters!!
  10. @ kindle , you look amazing! How long did it take you to reach goal? What type of exercise are you doing?

  15. I start my 2 week liquid diet on Monday , and I'm kinda ready for it, I've been eating a lot of crap - I guess because I know that I won't be very soon. I actually did the protein liquid diet today, just to try it, and it was fine. Two weeks is a long time, but like I said I'm ready for it, and that only means D-day is that much closer !!!

  20. I'm getting my sleeve June 9 and I agree, the posts on here negative and positive , are always followed with, no regrets or the best choice I ever made , it makes me realize how important it is to feel good about yourself . And that great satisfaction of success far outweighs any small discomfort or problems along the way. The outcome is worth it!
  21. I've read in the packet from my doc that I need to ween off coffee before surgery. Why can't we have coffee? The caffeine ? And when can we start up again? Do all docs require no coffee?
