  2. I'm pretty open about my surgery. It's my choice. They don't have To like it. I usually ask them same question back... Have YOU thought about it. Do you know what it takes do you know what ive dealt with to get to this point. Usually shuts them up or opens up to actually have an open conversation.

  9. Most people swear by premier. I have a whole case I can't seem to choke down. I want try syntrax or unjury.
  10. When you get your approval letter from your insurance provider it should state on there when it's good until. Mine, Aetna, is good for six months.

  14. I called Aetna today to see and I have been APPROVED! Super quick turn around. Waiting on the surgeon's office to call me since I beat them to the punch, ha. Good luck!

  17. NO!!!! =( I am so sad for you!!! WTH is wrong with these insurance companies!?!?
  18. I'm not a fan of the premier. It and the Atkins bloated my stomach so bad. It's a little more sugar, but the EAS Soy is pretty good. I brew espresso, add tons of ice and use a scoop of the vanilla one. I really like it. There are a few milk (lactose) free products like: MHR 70+, unjury, Isopure, Syntrax nectar, and SmartForme shakes/drinks. Can't wait to read updates. Surgery is getting close!
  19. I'm in the dfw area to. Posting so i can keep up with updates.
  20. ut oh!! I just had my consult with TR. Dr. Snow will be banding me. I hope some others will chime in with their experiences. =(
  21. Yeah, I was going to cut my basal by 40% and actually wear my dexcom. Thanks for the add! Did they try and talk you into the sleeve? or were they reluctant to do the band due to the diabetes? Seems like the diabetes is always throwing the curve when it comes to operations. Was your A1C in tiptop shape? Mine is def. not, working on though. If you have time, you can send me the response in a private message. =)
  22. Thanks Stevodreo!! Did you have any issues with the preop fast?
  23. Hello All! I'm new around here. Anyone have any experience with being a Type 1 Diabetic and having WLS? Looking for similar stories to mine. I have my first consult next week. TIA!
