I'm making homemade chicken broth for the freezer today! Getting ready!

I am scheduled for August 1 ! My emotions about it are all over the place. I know I'm doing the right thing for me! I start my 2 week pre op liquid diet on August 17! The only thing I'm really worried about with that is having out of town guests for the weekend who look forward to my homemade bread and my cooking. Also I figure about the time they get here the headache will set in. Oh well. I'll make it thru! We will be starting an incredible journey soon and I'm so glad to have August buddies to share this with!!!

Hi skylarkx! I'm in Virginia too, in Fredericksburg, having my surgery in Richmond. Where are you in Va, and who is your surgeon? I'm in Staunton Virginia and I'm having surgery on August 1 at RMH Sentara in Harrisonburg with Dr Garwood

I'm very excited and nervous too! I've spent a lot of time reading posts on bariatric pal and I am confident that I have made the right choice! I appreciate all of you that post. I have learned so much from you!

My date is August 1 2014!!!!

Travel mego, I had mine this morning and it was a piece of cake! I had an IV put in and went to the procedure room. They put electrodes on my chest to monitor my heart. The worst part was the tiny cup of thick liquid I had to gargle and swallow , it was pretty nasty. They then put Demerol in my IV drip and I was out if it!! They also gave me a drug so that I wouldn't remember anything and the next thing I knew I was back in my room like nothing ever happened! I had 2 biopsies and I cannot tell they were done! I really worried for nothing! You will do fine!!

I had my EDG with the Bravo capsule placed. It all was very easy, slept through it all! My surgeon said I had Gastritis and he did 2 biopsies. One looking for h pilori and the other to check for pre cancerous cells in a brown spot he discovered. I go back to see him in 10 days for the findings. This process is taking so long yet on the other hand I'm glad he is so thorough !

As anyone had HRT interfere with weightloss? I'm hoping for a July surgery, just wondering. Thanks!

Crosby, I have GERD to and I have my EGD with Bravo next Friday. My surgeon said it was a possibility because of the GERD I my have to have the bypass too! I'm hoping that since it is controlled now with meds that I can still be sleeved.

Hi everyone! I am 55 years old and 5'5" and weight is 257. I'm in Virginia. The only major thing I have left to do is the endoscopy w/ bravo. I have pre paid for my surgery and I now find out that the bariatric surgery program surgery program at my hospital is on hold because the PA is leaving. I don't know how long it will be before I get a date now. My endoscopy is on the 20th of June and my surgeon said we will talk surgery dates after that. I'm frustrated because nobody would give me an idea of how long it would take to get a date. I'm so happy for all of you that have their dates and wish you all the best!'

It took 2 weeks for my psychic eval to get sent to my surgeon. Right now I'm currently waiting (2 weeks away) for my EDG with Bravo before I can get my surgery date.

On my list is: A cruise Ride rides at an amusement park with my grandson A train ride out west A pair of wranglers and a pair of red cowboy boots! And much much more! Love love love this thread!

Trebor1980, I spent about an hour with the doctor talking about my support system at home, my stress levels, and how I am preparing now for the surgery. He also asked if I had any childhood abuse issues. The doctor was very easy to talk to and I was relaxed with him. Since I was self pay they went ahead and did the testing which consisted of 570 true/false question. Not all doctors to the tests. I'm sure you will do fine, just be honest with the doc!
