  1. I just posted on our other page also. (We have too many pages! lol) Had my follow up today and the surgeon wasn't concerned about the side pain. Said the muscles were split, may have had some tearing when stomach was pulled out and if it's not constant pain, they weren't really worried! Thanks for the reply!!!
  2. Hi all - just got back from my 2 week follow up and NUT visit. Surgeon said the side pain was probably from them pulling my stomach out - they split the muscles and some times there is some tearing. They were't concerned about it. I get to advance my diet! YAY!!!! Mashed potatoes, refried Beans, eggs, crispy crackers, etc. NUT said to try different things for about a week and then can try meats if those are tolerated OK. If meats are OK then I can start to transition to regular foods in about a week. She said that the things that are typically least tolerated are eggs for some reason and then breads. She said crispy crackers or things that are crispy so they break apart when you eat them instead of sitting like a lump in your stomach. Making the family tacos for dinner tonight and I'm having refried beans. SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!
  3. Hey everyone, it's a "does anyone else have this" post: I've noticed just over the last hour or so that I am getting a moderate pain in my left abdomen, about midway between my belly button and my side. (This side has been more sore because that's where they pulled my stomach out.) I get just a little jolt of pain and then it goes away. Of course (TMI) I haven't had a bowel movement of any kind in the last couple days so I'm thinking it may be that??? Thanks!
  4. The good news is, all the stuff you are supposed to be "eating" now is stuff that should help you feel better! Lots of Water, some decaf tea and broth!! Gets lots of rest and listen to your body as far as doing walking - I wouldn't force it.
  5. I've had some of that sensation also where I know I can't be hungry but feel like I am. A lot of it for me is the "head hunger", meaning someone else is eating something or it's at a time I would usually eat/snack so my body thinks I should be eating. I just try to talk myself out of it. Sounds like you are doing great!
  6. Morning all! I was a little sore yesterday but OMG is my left side sore today! Sitting in the car and felt like I had to try to move my stomach around to let it settle into a more comfortable position. What the heck is up with this?!
  7. @@rmspencer - I can tell the incision my stomach was pulled out of because it was BRUISED!! It looked like they beat the crap out of me in surgery! It's looking better now. They all actually are. I was my primary care doctor yesterday and as she was looking at my incisions she was like "YOU'RE GOING TO BE ABLE TO WEAR A BIKINI!!" I'm feeling a little more sore today too. It's strange how everything comes and goes. A great day followed by one that's more challenging. Surgery was on the 14th and I'm down 10.9 pounds from then. So just a little over a pound a day. I guess I can't complain too much, but I do need to get off my butt and start walking more. I have the alerts from this sent to my phone and there are days you ladies blow up my inbox! lol Edited to say - my NUT and surgeon gave a goal of 700-900 calories.
  8. LOL. That's really funny!
  9. @@chellede How have your incisions been? Mine are so itchy! I know that's part of healing but I just want to SCRATCH!!!!
  10. It may have been from just having walked or gas or something. I'm actually pushing on it now and it doesn't bother me. Just my "normal" left side discomfort.
  11. Hi guys. My left side pain has been going away a little each day. Just got in from a walk and something rested on my belly and I realized it was sore to the touch, just above my bellybutton. This is new. Has anyone else had this?
  12. Someone posted a link before for a ticker, but I haven't been able to find it. For the weight you lose, it gives you the equivalent of what you've lost in other items. Like "You've lose 16 basketballs" and stuff like that. Anyone have the link? Thanks!
  13. Use a stationary bike or if you have a gym you go to - a Nustep if they have one.
  14. I had my hubby and aunt check from theirs and they couldn't see anything about it on my wall or groups....
  15. Someone did start a FB page. It's private and by invite only. The posts show up on your own page but nobody else can see them.
  16. Brian - I was getting that same sensation until yesterday (4 days out). It didn't matter how little my sips were. My doc said it was gas and get up and walk as much as possible. I woke up the next day and could take bigger sips without any problem!
  17. I had my sleeve 10/14 also. Had to take VERY small sips at first. I could feel it going down and then like a big gas bubble coming back up. Easier to drink now and yesterday I got in all my Protein and Water. Having a hard time getting in 30 minutes of purposeful activity - just feel week and a little light headed..... Keep up the good work! Karen
  18. I have that same pain. It's a little better every day. My second night home it hurt so bad I couldn't get comfortable so I broke out the abdominal binder that night and the next day and it's been a little better since then.....
  19. Yeah - I have a heck of a bruise from one of my Lovenox injections but not from the others. They told me if I rubbed it it was going to bruise. (Although I don't remember rubbing it....)
  20. I used the cpap and it was fine. They had it in my room and I just put it on when I went to sleep. Same as at home. I can't find the post but what is going on with glued incisions? Mine were glued....
  21. I was sleeved in Tuesday 8/14. Came home Thursday and have been plugging along on my liquids. Today when I got up (worse than yesterday) I just feel weak/tired and a little light headed. Yesterday I got in 80 g of protein, 64 oz fluid but only 444 cal. (Goal 700-900). Bp was 123/72, hr 92. No fevers. Some discomfort on my left side, but better every day. Down 6.4 pounds from surgery.? Is this normal as my body adjusts? Any suggestions? I was thinking of trying some G2 - my fluids have been pure water or water mixed in my protein shakes. Thanks in advance!!
  22. I just had surgery on Tuesday. I was noticing that the first couple days as well, but it's pretty much gone now. I even tried drinking larger sips and it still felt OK. Hang in there!!!
