  1. eek I didn't see strikes post before! Strike~ Have fun moving uggh.. LOL.. The only thing I enjoy about moving is throwing crap away and starting fresh other than that it sucks! LOL.. My hubby retired from the Navy last year and we have moved 11 times in his career! I hope your new place feels like home ASAP!
  2. Good morning Junies.. I just have to tell you that as soon as I get to work and grab my coffee the first thing is I jump on here and see how you are all doing! So this morning I was so happy to see some exciting things from you all! Apples~ have fun! I live 5 minutes from mohegan sun, actually if I step out of my office I can see it from here. Foxwoods is about 7 minutes from me. It's funny when you live near attractions they really don't interest you. I end up just donating my money anyway..lol. I hope you have some fun girl time! Vz~ I am so excited for you~ I bet you were doing a happy dance. I hope they realize what a great person you are and hire you right then and there. About 5 years ago I got laid off from a job I loved. I thought it was the best job ever and I was devastated. I was on unemployment and just going on the interviews and the one place I didn't want to interview for I thought hey why not get some interview practice. I didn't want to work there at all! It is in a basement, no windows, all men who look like KKK extremists.. all tatooed and shaved heads.. anyway, I interviewed and they offered me $60,000 to start! I was making 13 bucks an hour at my last job! I took the job and guess what looks are deceiving. I love my job sometimes I am frustrated by it but it is a great job! I am still here and no they are not kkk members LOL.. they are just regular guys. So long story short, being laid off brought me to a much better place. I really believe that your perfect job is out there and sooner than later it will find you! Lucy~ congrats girl on your xl shirts and 18 pants! That is sooo awesome! I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday! xoxo allie~
  3. when I started I was 305 and I am 5 9" - 5 10" ish.. since I am getting older (38) I seem to be shrinking and I am in denial..lol. I have had a little loose skin but girl let me tell you.. I look way hotter with loose skin then I ever did with fat filling it out! :tt2: It is true your age is to your advantage. But either way if that is the worse thing that happens is that you have loose skin there is always plastic surgery. I plan on getting a lower body lift and new girls :tt2: The only people that see my skin is my hubby when I have clothes on you can't tell. I have a picture posted of me on here in my albums of me in a tankini from just a couple of days ago. I hope this helps!
  4. I too eat out probably 3 times a week. I love going out now. I just eat either a little off of hubby's plate or get an app. I talked the the facilitator and she was very helpful but it just wasn't getting better so I just found a new group. I am hoping this one is better, if last night was any indication it is going to be a huge improvement!
  5. Long.. that is the same thing that keeps happening to me. I was almost embaressed to say how much I had lost because some people would like glare at me! I had lost the most in my support group and was a relative newbie so they aren't the happiest with me. But then I hear them bitching because they aren't losing weight but keep talking about how they can eat a 12" sub! It's like what the heck, you want to know why you aren't losing start tracking what your eating. It's crazy they think the bypass or the band will make them magically thin! Ok enough of my rant. LOL. It just really made me so frustrated to pay to go to a support group and that is the kind of crap I listened to every Tuesday night!
  6. this is funny that you ask this... I had a lot of favorite foods pre band but now I don't think of food that way. I now eat to live not the other way around. You won't be food focused anymore and crave foods the way you do now. At least for me that has been the way since I was banded. If I want something I have a bite of it. But really you need to get your mind set on getting healthy and not focusing on what you will be giving up because what you will gain can't even begin to compare. Good luck!!!
  7. LUCY CONGRATS!!!!!! :lol::lol::lol::tt2::thumbup::lol::lol::lol::tt2::thumbup:
  8. Don't be scared! It's the best thing I ever did. What kind of questions do you have or what type of advice are you looking for?
  9. Congrats on your date. My birthday is the day before! :tt2: My hubby just retired from the navy last year, and boy do i NOT miss deployments! I took 5 days off and was fine! I thought I would be back to work within 3 days but needed the extra two. I think you should be fine, definetly don't need 2 weeks off! where are you stationed? We live in Gales Ferry, CT.. next to rotten groton. lol
  10. congrats!! Have fun poking around!
  11. lol APPLES.. I'm here!! Doing great! :tt2:
  12. congrats wanna.. you couldn't have picked a better thing to do for yourself!!!! I really believe it is the best thing I have done for me! I have so much more self confidence and energy. I wish you much luck and happy banding!
  13. woo hooo katies!!!!!!!!
  14. looking good Andrew!!! HOTTIE:thumbup:
  15. Ok so yesterday was a bad food day for me. I was nervous (had a new wls support to go to) so I went off track .. B: 1/2 fiber wasa crisp with chive cream cheese L: 3 oz chicken w/ gravy here goes the bad stuff D: 1/2-3/4 cup of frito lay casserole s: kozy shack flan with whip cream s: 200 calorie pack of swedish fish s: 100 calorie pack of m&m's ugggh lol
  16. Good beautiful morning Junies. Ok so I have to tell you girls that you guys really help me! I love how I can come on here and you always make me laugh and brighten up my day. Katie- congrats!! 90lbs lost woohoo Long- I hear ya girl.. shopping in a regular store is so exhilerating! I love grabbing clothes and trying them on and they fit! LOVE IT!! Lucy- I hope you hit onderland today! Take a pic of you in your outfit! I want to see! I thought it was so funny you wanted your hubby to measure your calves. I know I never even thought about my calves lol.. I have been focusing on my gut! I wish I had measured before so I could compare but I didn't want to know at the time LOL I just know that I might have needed two measuring tapes lol. Vz- ok so when I read your post about normal calves being 16-17-1/2 I was drinking coffee at my desk and literally had coffee shoot out my nose I was giggling so hard! That's it! I really think since you, long and I are all really tall we need some strong calves to hold us up or we would tipple over! So woo hoo for my 17" calves. I would hate to always be face down in the ground. I will say it. I am happy I have 17" calves LOLLLL Army- You rock sister! Basketball! That is amazing! I am super proud of you for joining! that got me thinking.. I used to love playing softball. Maybe this year I will join a rec league. HMM.. that might be alot of fun! Alright so I was going to a wls support group every tuesday and was getting squat from it. I was as they called me the super bandster and they were always asking me for advice and so on. Which is great but I needed support not to always be the one giving support. I ended up not going for awhile and just really kept coming here for all my support. Which has been awesome. I did find a new wls support group that meets once a month and I went last night for the first time and it was great! It was a mix of bypass and banders and although I had lost the most as a band patient there were a couple bypass patients that had lost way more than me and they were awesome for advice and support. It's nice to have someone to look to. On another note. Yesterday was a terrible food day for me. I was craving something bad and made frito lay casserole and flan. I didn't eat alot but still! Oh well.. off to be productive at work. Have a great day Junies! xoxxo
  17. I have had a sweet tooth my whole life! I haven't heard of a vitamin but I indulge every day. I have either a 100 calorie pack of m&m's or 100 calorie pack of swedish fish. I figure what the heck.. this isn't a diet.
  18. I though I would be back to work in 2 days since I have a desk job and I have to tell you I had to take a full week off from work. I had alot of gas pain and was pretty uncomfortable.
  19. Hey there.. Your post was just the same way I felt pre banding. It is amazing what the difference is now. I am not on a diet. I eat what I want just very small portions. I can't fail at this, as long as I follow the band rules and keep being aggresive with my fills I will be thin for the rest of my life. It's so different than dieting. I don't think about food like I used to. When I was first banded I was trying to eat low fat and such and realized that I can eat what I want, I do try and eat healthier things but I also eat a 100 calorie pack of m&m's every day lol. I eat the 100 calorie packs because if I ate one more m&m I would puke. LOL.. Seriously if you are aggresive with your fills you will be full and CANNOT overeat. You end up puking. You learn really quick what full feels like. I hope this helps and feel free to email me anytime if you have any other questions. 1morrisfamily@comcast.net. There are alot of great people on here, have fun poking around.
  20. Hi back! Congrats on being banded!
  21. b: 3 oz. yogurt L: 3 pieces pepper pals little chicken crispers from chili's s: 100 calorie swedish fish d: 1/4 of chimichanga s: 1/4 cup ice cream (came right back up)
  22. Hey there. I love going out to eat and we do at least 2-3 times a week. I go to fast food, and sit down. There is no where I wouldn't go. I can always get an app or just have some of dh's. I usually don't ever order a meal just for myself. Alot of times at the beginning my eyes were bigger than my stomache and we would order to much food. So now for example we went to margarita's last night and we shared the beef chimichanga. I ate maybe a 1/4 of it and hubby ate the rest including the beans and rice and all the chips and salsa. I was stuffed and he was stuffed. It's definetly sometimes cheaper to eat out then eat at home. If I go to fast food I always get something off the 99 cents. Maybe a small salad or chili or even the 4 piece chicken nuggets. So you can find something anywhere!
  23. Hey there. You should be prepping for surgery right now. I wish you many good thoughts and prayers. Congrats on your band birthday! This date will always be sealed into your memory! We are the about the same height. I was heavier than you at the start 305. In two days will be my 8 month bandiversary. It just flew by. I hope you take LOTS of pics along your journey because you will love looking back at the before's!!
