  1. Hi all, I had surgery on October 1st, thats 3 months and have lost 39 pounds. Starting weight was 231 and current 192. My eating issues crept up during the holidays like grazing and eating at night. I didnt gain weight but I didnt lose either. Today is monday and I am trying hard to correct my behavior. Its crazy how easy I can get slider foods down the hatch yet struggle with Water still. If I get an 8oz cup of water it really takes me a few minutes to finish it. Tips on coping? I need a support group!
  2. Also....I did cook for him while I was on liquids. I didnt feel too bad about it. I made eggs, sandwiches, quesadillas....anything for our children, right?
  3. I have a 2 year old. He broke his leg 10 days after my surgery and wound up at the ER. But I did have my husband around for a week and my mom. I did carry him at times because he couldnt walk for a week. Not great advice but I really recovered quick. Not that my surgeon would want to hear I lugged my two year old around. He did get used to Grandma carrying him instead of me and stopped whining about it. I wish you good luck!
  4. Great to hear from some postops, thanks. Scale slowed down but thats okay. I can actually wear nice clothes I havent worn in years!
  5. I was a vegetarian but I ate a lot of junk. I eat meat and ate a lot of junk. I would love to try again now that I know more about nutrition. Lets all start a group
  6. ha ha, the first week after surgery I had 2 nights where I dreamed I messed up and ate pizza!
  7. I can eat a whole egg with a sprinkle of cheese for Breakfast. lunch is a Protein shake. And dinner say half a can of salmon with mayo and a slice of avocado. I'm sure this is between 500-600 calories a day. During the liquid phase I was having 320 calories a day and felt faint a few times. Some people say they are stuffed after 2-3 bites or want to vomit. But I dont. We do need some calories...right?
  8. my surgery will be on Oct 1st and I am still breastfeeding my 24 month old. Little one is not ready to wean and I am not going to force him. Breastfeeding and caring for my son only motivates me more to be healthy and stay hydrated
  9. @@happymama2014 guilty for having surgery? No way, your son and your health are the reasons you and I are having this surgery!
  10. @@Miss Mac my new birthday...yes!
  11. @@BitterSweet* time to fly October 1st! I do wish to go back to school! Do you have a surgery date?

  13. thank you for your warm thoughts folks. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. I cant wait to lose this fat suit. There are so many things Ive wanted to try and havent because of my weight and being too embarrassed. Trying to stay positive. I cant wait to try indoor rock climbing, I can take my son too! http://www.climbhangar18.com/ Will keep u updated and upload photos soon
  14. I am in the same boat, my surgery is Oct 1. I dont need to lose weight per my doctor but Ive been obsessing over food lately too! Ive gained 8 pounds and my surgeon is annoyed
  15. I have always been obese and I feel being this way has prevented me from success. Its also made me a bit socially awkward. I never regretted anything life but as my Oct 1 surgery date approaches I regret not doing anything worthwhile. Why didnt I study nursing? Why didnt I join the army? Why cant I climb Mt. Everest? I am married and a mother. My child is the best thing thats ever happened to me but I feel like such a loser lately. I want to use this life changing surgery for the best but its putting me on an emotional rollercoaster. I just needed a place to rant and rave.
  16. @@auntiemel would appreciate your list...would you message me? thank u!!!
  17. I'm stuck at a dead end job and havent had any luck finding anything else. I suspect my appearance, and yeah I could be more confident. Once I lose weight we shall see
  18. Hi, my surgery will be on Oct 1st! Yay! I have a question for you postops. Did you find better employment opportunities/promotions after significant weightloss? And do you attribute it to weight loss or attitude? thanks
  19. I lost a lot of weight doing crossfit and the paleo diet. but had a baby and gained it all back. I dont really have time to go anymore but may go back after my surgery on Oct. I dont recommend eating before a crossfit class, u may puke!
  20. The only chewable multis I see in stores are for kids, cant I just crush the ones I have?
  21. Thank you for the kind words. Confidence and holding my head high is something I have to work on everyday. Being fat since kindergarten has been rough, glad to yall can relate
  22. I have two sister in laws (one on each side of the family) that gossip and talk trash about people (me, my mom, anyone with a pulse), even eachother. My surgery is in two months and I am wondering how significant weight loss may make me the talk of the family. I was bullied as a child and have a hard time dismissing this kind of stuff. My husband is nonchalant and says they will hate on you fat or skinny. How do you postops cope? Thanks
  23. Its perfectly normal. We need a little extra considering where are "button" is. I took an anthropology class and learned that happened because we stand on two feet. I learned that some species of primates have their clitoris much closer to their opening.
  24. so much to consider, thanks
  25. So I went to my initial intake appointment with a nurse and apparently I am BARELY a BMI of 40. She suggested I not get too crazy with exercise and not lose weight. My orientation and surgeon consult are in a few weeks. I forgot to ask but Im dying to know...does everyone have to do the six month diet before surgery? The nurse said I shouldn't lose any weight, even by surgery date for insurance purposes. Perhaps I heard wrong? Of course, I was a dummy and I forgot to ask more questions. I have anthem bc ppo. Anyone else here barely qualify? Comments appreciated
