  7. I would be glad too, my surgeon wants to be notified anytime I go to the ER. He wants to be able to guide the Docs, the ER doc may not understand the limits that a Bari patient has. With sleeve, we have 80% or more of our stomach removed and it is very small. they do not want NG tubes to be installed blindly. They should use like ultrasound to guide tubes in so they do not perforate our little stomach. Also, if you need to swallow contrast die for X-ray, you will not be able to drink standard volume as a normal person. These are a couple reasons my surgeons office recommended the med alert. This makes since to me but you always have a choice, its your body.
  8. Yes, I put mine on the first day I was home from hospital. Mine looks like a medal cross on a chain. You just do not want any Doc trying to scope your little friend unless he knows how small and delicate it is.Nor do you want a bunch of fluids down there. Remember, ER docs and med techs are not that familiar with Bari patients. They need to call your surgon before treating you.

  11. My PMRI Medical clearance was 9/10/2014. Surgical Clearance from Dr Peters was 9/25/14. Surgery date was 10/20/2014. My date was about a week later than normal because my EDG found I had H -pylori and had to take antibiotic for 14 days. Insurance approval to about 10 days. Everything goes fast except the liquid diet...LOL...
  12. I had mine there on Oct 20th, the staff and room was great, Dr. Peters is wonderful skilled surgeon. You are in great hands...
  13. That would be awesome, please invite as many as you can. That will make our group work well for all.. When we get closer, if you could share how many will attend, I can plan the right sized room. I am glade the location works for you..
  14. I believe the first meeting will be at Whatcoat UMC 16 North Main Street, Camden DE. Depending on size of group will depend if I stay in fellowship hall or go upstairs to the adult class room. We hope to move it over next door to the Simpson Community Center (old sewing center building if you remember on corner), but not sure all renovations will be complete by January. I will try to post as its gets closer if I know for sure. This is going to be fun adventure! I hope you journey is going well. Please stay in touch if you have questions ask away.
  15. Thanks so much for posting, I decided to hold the first meeting on January 15th, 2015 @ 5:30 pm this is on a Thursday. This group will be different then most already offered. They tend to be extensions of the surgery center. I want this to be personal guidance from other people who have had the surgery and can help with all your little questions that ones has pre and post surgery. So it will be an extension of what BP offers on line except we will be supporting on line and in person. The group will meet in Camden, DE just south of Dover. I hope this is not to far for you to travel. Please let me know if you can attend or have any questions. Thanks
  16. Hi Birdie, I did too! After 12 day stall...Welcome to Twooterville !!!
  17. Hey LAG, I am doing really well so far! 3 weeks post opp lost total of 60#, 20# since surgery. I am doing really good with the puree' food. However, I am on this phase for 4 weeks and that seems long but my Doc progress really slow. I have 10 more shots of Lovennox then I stop them. I hope I will stop being so cold after that. I hope things are well in your world!
  18. Awesome Job, and you did it quickly too!
  19. Wow, same doc a day a part, we were probably in the hospital together!!
  20. Sounds like they should have kept you another night. Best wishes for a speed recovery!
  21. I started out at 360# I am only 7 day post opp so my activity right now is restricted to walking, but that will soon change. My current weight is 310#.
  22. If you click under the Forum Tab there is a whole thread set up for people doing the DS, This is just FYI, not trying run you off. Most surgery options have a lot of similarities. Good Luck!
  23. I am in the process of setting up a BP Local Group In Dover, DE. We will probably meet in Camden DE, Just south of Dover. If you would be interested in Joining the group Please let me know. It probably will not meet until Nov or Dec.
