  1. I too am a middle school teacher and my surgeon required 4 weeks off from work. I would have been fine with going back after 3 weeks, but I followed the doc's suggestion (it was nice being gone for awhile!)

  4. I was sleeved on May 8th and as of this morning, I am down 29#. I get to start soft foods tomorrow, but am nervous about eating too much. Trying to get the protein in IS a challenge, but I make myself drink at least one shake a day to up the protein intake. I am happy so far, but I am curious as to how much weight to REALLY expect to lose.

  6. Wow! That is an amazing accomplishment! You give me hope. I would like to lose an additional 130#, as I am down 20 in the first month, but I was worried I might not get there. What suggestions or dos/don'ts can you suggest? I know each person is different, but you are a success story and I would love to hear more!

  8. I am almost one month post op and still can't drink water! It's killing me because I am so used to drinking ONLY water. I have found that iced tea (decaf) is okay, but I miss my water!!

  11. I am 17 days post op and have lost 17 pounds. I just started puréed foods this past Friday and am still havering a difficult time getting all my liquids in. Today, I helped plant some flowers and I didn't wear my binder (trying to stop) and now I am sore along my abdomen. I thought it was on my incision sites, but it wasn't and now I'm worried. Could I have caused a leak? Did I just overdo it? I feel fine otherwise- no fever, no pains, no upset tummy, nothing. Any info would be appreciated ????

  13. Today is day one of my 12 day pre-op liquid diet. I am not liking the fact that I still have to cook 3 meals a day for the family! Anyway, my surgery is scheduled for 5/8 and I am so excited--a little scared too. Surgery is a big deal but I know it is the right thing for me. I have been sipping on Water all day and I think it might help the hunger go away. QueenBeeBee- I hear ya-- I think I am getting the "hangry" feeling too. But, we can do this! Plus, what other choice do we have? Good luck!!!
