March Sleevers
@ I had my sleeve 15 days ago. I did stay 2 days in the hospital, the day after surgery you have your leak test and then comes the liquids. (I also had a drain in, which came out the day I was discharged.) Once you start drinking you never know how you will tolerate liquids, so again the extra day is yours for a cushion. I also took 2 weeks off, I am trying to have my time off qualify for short term disability (a benefit I pay for at work). I know I probably could not have gone back to work last week, but feel much stronger this week and I actually look forward to going to work (I work 12 hour night shifts in a fairly busy ICU). I am on a weight restriction for 6 weeks (35 pound limit). Hope this helps! Good luck!!!

Super Nurses With Sleeves (Support Group)

Anyone else ever shop at DXL?
@Jerr-Bear I feel your shame. I am a creature of habit. I buy the same pants, underwear, shoes and socks. This might be bland shopping habits, but I detest even going into a store to buy clothes. I have been lucky to purchase my 'fat clothes' on line, and fear now that I am post op, that I will have to do it all over again. Good luck with your journey!

March Sleevers
@ Spicy06.... good to hear you are doing better! I am on post op day 10. I feel no hunger and am still struggling to get my 100 grams of protein in a day. But today is a better day. I feel like I'll finally make the 100 gram goal. Liquids are going down good and feeling pretty good (actually just got inside from making a plant bed border, digging up some grass and putting weed barrier down, and planting 2 Goji berry plants - yes my spouse helped, but it felt good being outside doing stuff). I lost 21 pounds on the pre-op diet and 12 pounds since surgery. Making progress!!!

March Sleevers
@@Spicy06 Congrat's.... I am 6 days post op, have had very little problems since surgery. I was up walking 15 minutes after I got back to my room, from surgery. WALK WALK WALK and be patient. My doctor did allow me to have the most delicious ice chips while I waited from my leak test. Once you've past that obstacle... drink drink drink!!!! Wishing you the best of luck!

February/March 2015 Self Payers in Mexico
Hello everyone... I returned home late last night from my life changing experience. My surgery was on Monday March 2 and I am feeling pretty good this morning (getting a good night sleep in my own bed helped). I succumbed to the scale this morning and I am down a nice 4 more pounds since my pre-op weight and a total of 25 pounds since I started my pre-op diet. I am 1/4th my weigh to my goal weight.

Great Surgeon and Hospital in Mexico - trying to narrow....
I am an ICU nurse, been doing this for 27 years. I feel I have done my due diligence and interviewed and assessed multiple processes and surgeons. I am very confident that I have made the right decision, I will be having my sleeve by Dr Elias Ortiz on Monday March 2, through A Lighter Me. My process might be different from anyone else... and my criteria might be different than other. I am NOT a spokesperson for any doctor or organization. I believe in trust and honesty. Again, I feel I have made the right decision for me. Now back to your regular program.... LOL

From what I have read is 30 grams. Otherwise your body just can not absorb it.
