  3. Hellooo everyone! Woww its been YEARSSS since I've posted on here...! I cant beleive im 5yrs POST OP, and down 140lbs! Its been a VERY slow journey, but well worth it! Now please don;t get me wrong the lapband is the best decision i've ever made in my life, AND NEVER HAD ONE REGET TO THIS DAY! Anyways you guys... I don't recognize myself! Has anyone else felt like this, or going through this??!! I was sooo confident at 315lbs, wore stilettos had the highest self esteem, yet now, 140lbs lighter, I just feel like I don't know how I truely look...I havent posted a facebook or Instgram pics online in like almost a year... Everyone is like you look great why don't you take any pictures? I just feel like I don't look the pictures!! Sometimes I cry because when I see myself in a picture, even a mirror I'm like who is that? I feel like i've completed changed... even my skin has gotten lighter from the weightloss... So not only am I different size, I'm a different color! I assumed that since my weight loss was so slow, when I got closer to my goal weight it wouldn't be this shocking but it is! I know that the doctors warned me this before the surgery (this is one of the side effects) but I know I cant be the only out there that's close to their goal weight feeling this way... anyone else out there or with any advice? thanks!
  4. IVE LOST 140 AND STILL LOOSING!! I'm almost 5yrs post op, its been VERRRYYY slow, but omg SOOO WORTH IT!!
  5. OMG IM IN THE SAME SITUATION!!! im a year and a half out, almost 2yrs and my restriction had gotten tight all of a sudden, like over night! ive lost 76lbs so far (i didnt have any restriction at all in the first 6months after my surgery) but a couple days later, im fine i feel i have PERFECT restriction, i think ive reached my sweet spot:thumbup: i have no clue why this happens though... a week ago i had made an apt to get tighten!! now i dont need it
  6. lol, it's TOTALLY NOT WRONG!!! i'm going through a very similar situation... the more weight i loose, the more attention i get. i hate guys... especially shallow ones who now all of a sudden want to say hello since i've lost 50+lbs... DONT GIVE HIM ANOTHER CHANCE!!! and congrads on your weightloss!!!
  7. lol thank you, thank you!!
  8. before was like 2008... 6months before my surgery @ my heighest weight 315!! now im @ like 270... i dunno HATTEE weighing myself lol my new pics were taken 2*3*09
  9. i have been where you are.... i think maybe you should go for an unfil... as for the hiccups and burping... that comes with the band. i believe everyone experiences that. good luck!!
  10. i could careless if prositiution was legalized or not. I dont exactly understand why it's illegal anway... if youre 18+, and a competent adult, its THEIR decision.
  11. thank you everyone who responded back to my question!!! today i went for an unfil... he said he took out .15, so now im at a 4.1 in a 4cc band.... so far its soo much better!! thanks again everyone!
  12. Ok, so.... i know i havent posted on here in a while... but i do have a very important question, but first i should explain my rare situation. i was banded over SIX MONTHS ago, however, it took until my last month, when i had to get an xray because i didnt have ANY restriction at all. Up until the xray, i was able to eat anything, and fast as well. so my doctor said hes not sure why i havent had restrtiction, he said his best guest was i needed more than the average person (everyones diffrent) so according to my doctor, i have 4.25cc in 4cc band!! when i did the xray he put in 4cc, and i had felt comfortable with that restriction, but he insisted i go to a 4.25.... so i did... and now my band is hella tight! i can sometimes barely get down water, and im only eating maybe ONE meal a day. sometimes soups dont even get down or water... and now im starting to get nervous because i'm throwing up alot, almost 3x a day when ever i try to eat. so... could someone please give their advice?? i'm at the point where im going to call my doctor and tell him i need an unfil... Do you think maybe i should wait until my next fill and give it some more time...?? yes im loosing weight faster, but i KNOW its not worth me risking band slippage... but thank you for reading my post!! you guys are GREAT and helpful!!
  13. OMG i PB just about everyday also.... well to sum it up, i basically BP more often then i dont :cursing:
  14. i am on my 6TH FILL and still have not had any restriction... i can still eat anything, chew fast, and everything goes down with a problem. as a matter of fact, i have NEVER once had anything get caught. my doctor says hes not really worried about me not having restriction because i seem to be loosing weight a normal paste... im getting SOOO FRUSTRATED NOW THOUGH! so for my next fill, he says i'm going to need to get an xray of my band to see why i dont have any restriction... good luck! but does anyone else have any advice for me? i mean is this normal?? my 6th, and nothing yet?
  15. i can sort of relate... i'm on my 6th fill and yet to feel any type of restriction! im starting to get hopeless... even though i've list 20+lbs, i am still able to eat anything, and lots of it
  16. its tottaly normal to feel depressed during the first stage!! i know i was! my whole family noticed, and my mom was nervous... but look on the bright side, the WILL come when your able to eat!! just remember, it WILL happen... just be patient  and sry about your reactions to the medicine... hope u feel better!
  17. NO!! i had no pre-op diet yay!! everyone's liver is a diffrent size, theres really no point to be on a pre-op diet, unless its to make your surgery sucessfull
  18. i told everyone, and their mother! (lol) even strangers at the store. However, i kind of wished i hadn't, because then you get those annoying questions, people trying to talk you out of it, and also the negativity!! but i'm glad i shared my story.
  19. i still use a straw sometimes. i dont think it matters, as long as you gulp your drink down
  20. HI guy!! you are surely are NOT to young to be banded! I just turned 20 a few months ago, and wish i could have gotten banded back when i was a teenager! You're never to young to make the right health choices. and dont let ANYONE discourge you about your age, because if i listened to everyone who said "your to young", i'd never be banded good luck!
  21. thank you for asking this question!! i also was wondering what PB meant... so far i havent experienced it... does it hurt though??
  22. I drink right up until my meal, and then weight a half hour after to start drinking again. Honestly, its NOT that hard. Just put the glass away if you're tempted to drink. im sure that a sip of water wouldnt hurt, especially if you're taking a pill that requires to be taken with food. if I can do it, ANYONE can
  23. i know exactly how you feel... i have NO restriction at all. Since i didnt have a pre op diet, ive only lost 14lbs, but i fear that i might gain it back now that i'm able to eat ANYTHING... but congrads, you'll be fine! i get my fill 6*25*08:thumbup:
  24. hey everyone!! i got banded may 22nd around 1pm...:cursing: the surgery went very well, and i wasnt in much pain dr artuso said i was fine, but thinks i should stay over night since my insurance approved it. and boy and im glad i did!! so far i havent had any gas pains, but i am incrediably sore... and the nurses i had at night were horrible. my machine kept going off, and it take them about 30mins just to answer!! anyways, im doing well, just very sore is there anything i can do to get rid of the soreness from my stomach? i'd love to hear what you all think... THANK YOU!
