  3. Today I am officially ,1 month post op. MY surgery was April 15. I am feeling good! I am wearing some clothes from the other side of the closet, hehehe. I was nauseated this morning so Protein shake for me. Truthfully, I think I need a break from them. Yesterday, I had to gag my way through them. So I ordered

  5. I have a friend who had the same issue. She resorted to using unjury chicken soup and also the unflavored protein powder. She added the unflavored powder to soups, broth, pudding, yogurt, etc
  6. Come one come all @@MissTrish14!!!!! Good for you! I felt the same way. Too ashamed at 298# but I'm going to start with photos and journal no layer than tomorrow.
  7. @@MrsGloMartin I challenge you to keeping progression photos! I too hated the camera and just today my hubby reminded me that I said i'd chronicle this wl journey with progression photos and a journal. Come on....won't you join me. Let's remember where we were emotionally and physically and watch as our lives transform and hopefully be encouraging and motivational to others. LOL I started doing this too. I posted a pic of me today on instagram that I took this weekend. I try to journal daily even if it is just a blurb. I even took an underwear pic to have a true pic of where I started. Well almost, because I took that pic recently. I was too ashamed when I was 305.
  8. [quote name="w8loser" post="3470722" timestamp="13999wh1 Not losing as much weight as I expected. Extremely disappointed in myself. I'm 6 weeks out and down 18lbs. with RNY. I really expected to lose at least 25lbs by now! Especially since I started at almost 300lbs. I could understand it if I was under 250. My sister in law lost 30lbs her 1st 3 weeks and we were about the same weight. She doesn't exercise but I'm on the treadmill regularly. I know I shouldn't compare myself to others but what is it that I'm doing wrong? Waah waah waaah *whiny, I know...lol You are not whiny! You are just disappointed understandably. FIRSTLY, are you getting enough protein? SECONDLY, are you getting enough water? You have already said you are exercising so that's not in question. lastly 18 pounds in 6 weeks is not bad. And personally, as a person who has tried most diets, I keep wondering if my body is like let's see how long she'll do this diet. Lol. in the meantime try focusing on some non scale victories. my Most recent one is I can squat without pain. lastly losing it slowly might reduce some of loop the loose skin that we get.
  9. I had Rny on April 15. I returned to work half days on April 22. Even if you don't have any issues with pain, you will be very easily fatigued. Lifting is not the most significant issue. Expecting to return to work for full days after major surgery is not a good idea.
  10. I was looking for this post yesterday. Hw 305 Sw 286 Cw 270 Surgery date April 15, 2014 Next week is my 1 month post op.weigh in
  11. Lol, I can imagine. My husband and daughter love to "take me out to eat". Especially now because no matter what I order they know that they will be eating the majority of it. Last night I cooked fish. I put 1/4 piece of fish in my plate and before I could finish it, my husband had eaten the rest of it. I told him, " This will be no fun if you gain what I lose."
  12. I had a few seconds of regret. Then I thought, what it's the point of regret? The surgery is over, my guts are rearranged, there is no turning back. Lol
  13. Thank you sweetheart! Me too, I was so afraid:( i feel a little better today and even shared a serving of mashed potatoes with my daughter for my dinner (we couldn't share her chicken lol. BTW, I read a lot of you guys talking about drinking Gatorade for hydration, my doctor told me not too because there is too much sodium and will cause me to retain water. He instructed me to drink pedialite instead. Just thought I'd share. After I had my surgery G2 was one of the choices I had for meals on my liquid diet. Definitely follow your doctor's orders, as we have found out, every doctor's protocol is different
  14. I am so glad that nothing major happened to you
  15. Hello Carol P! Thank you for starting this post. I dont have 200 lbs to lose, but I would like to about 165. I have always been heavy, plus sized, pleasantly plump and every other adjective. I have alway been active. Swim team, marching band, athletic trainer. My weight has been a constant battle. I lost 50 pounds years ago on Atkins and kept it off for 10 years. It started to creep back up on me. In an effort to keep it off I have tried, injections, pills, every diet I came across. Nothing worked. My weight ballooned up to 305. In January, my company merged with another and finally, I did not have an exclusion for bariatric surgery. I decided to try once again. Amazingly I was approved! My surgery was April 15 and since April 2, I have lost 35 lbs. I am so excited for the future
  16. we are on this journey together lady. Congratulations on your good report from the doctor. Please keep a close eye on your blood pressure. I am so happy for you!
  17. you are probably dehydrated and the extra fluid is what your body need it Will pick back up (the weight loss) I stalled for 4 days
  18. G2 Gatoraid will help too. Please call your doctor's answering service. This surgery is too major to be guessing.
