My surgery is May 7th! I started liquid diet yesterday, which consist of protein shakes, broth, sf Popsicles and jello. Only 800-1000 calories a day and no caffeine. I had a headache that turned into a migraine:( today I feel much better. I also uses bariatric advantage vanilla and you need a good blender for the right consistency. If I over blend it gets foamy. I would love to follow others having surgery the same week.

Hi there, so sorry you are going through all this. I had an experimental band that did not adjust. I lost and did good for a while then I couldn't keep anything down and then even water was I couldn't keep down. I lost down to a size 2. I was in starvation mode and had a revision to the adjustable band. It was night and day feeling. I don't eat bread, pasta, sweets or carbonated drinks. It has been about 5-6 years since the adjustable band and my weight started creeping up about 30 lbs this year alone. Went to wl doc and I swallowed that stuff and my esophagus had made it's own stomach basically. Anyhow, the best decision for us people that have experienced not keeping food down is rny. The shape of the sleeve can lead to the same feeling and acid reflex. During the scope I found out I have Barrett's esophagus now. Please let me know how your appt turns out or if u have any questions. My surgery is may 7th.

Congratulations! I am scheduled for revision to bypass may7, but I have heard from others and it sounds like your experience is very common. I was told on the 3rd day to only take chewable multivitamin and no additional vitamins for 2 weeks cause of constipation. Your insides have been messed with quite a bit and you've had slot of pain meds, hence the constipation. Just take it easy and only do what you can do. Keep me updated. Prayers for you!

Hello, thank you for writing about your experience. I am awaiting a revision from band to bypass. I am scheduled for the end April as long as it's approved. The sleeve was already approved but the doc recommended bypass cause we discovered I have Barrett's esophagus and bypass is the better choice since the sleeve can make it worse. I am getting more scared by the day. Scared I won't lose much weight and it's such a big surgery. I am also positive in thinking a lot of things I already don't eat, pasta, bread, sweets. The real big disappointment was not getting the sleeve & scared the bypass won't work.

I understand how you feel. I am awaiting a revision approval, but I also told others and I later wished I hadn't. The reason I wished I hadn't is because they watch me around food. I feel like all eyes are in me. Plus the word spread to people I definitely wouldn't have wanted to know. As for you friend who is writing these post, I would send her a private message if you don't feel like you can do it in person and tell her she is hurting you with these posts. Also, include the wisdom of words people have posted on this thread. Otherwise, some friends are temporary friends just delete her or change the settings where you don't get her posts. Some friends aren't forever friends. My heart goes out to you!
