  1. Oh and most important praying for you too!
  2. EmergingMissp: you are doing great! I started on Tuesday with liquid diet. The no coffee really got to me and I feel sluggish but much better as far as feeling better. I just finished home renovation and I can't imagine throwing it into the mix now. I am glad u friend requested. Not sure how to do it but yay me, I have a friend:)
  3. JolenB- I am not digging the bariatric advantage, vanilla or caffe late. I did watch to gnc lean25 chocolate. It has 50 more calories, but it's a lot tastier and lighter. I guess maybe those 50 calories are the reason u can't. I am on my 5th day of liquids and have lost 10 lbs.
  4. Also, I am sorry you are dealing with all this & you are defintely doing the right thing getting the band out. The bypass Is the best revision I was told for those issues. I believe the reason is because the part of the intestines that make acids is bypassed.
  5. To tlawren: once you've called the insurance ask them your reference number and any direct number to that dept. it took 6 working days for my approval. Are u on liquids yet?
  6. Yes, there is approval to go through. Your first stop is to a wl surgeon and tell them if U have any acid reflex, weight gain, throwing up, etc. it was nice at my surgeons office they have the machine that you can watch swallow test. I went back cause I started gaining weight and discovered my esophagus was dilated and would require the band be removed. The scope was next to see what the band and everything looks like. After that it was submitted to insurance. I hope this helps.
  7. That's awesome! Are you on a liquid diet? And that's this week! Yay! How do I foot you? Haven't quite figured this out.
  8. Thank you! I called my insurance everyday until it was approved:)
  9. My surgery is May 7th and that is what I am to have day 3 of bypass
  10. I am on say 4 of liquid diet and I will tell u those caffeine withdraws suck. My head has hurt for the last 3 days. Each day got a little better and today is the best. Y'all can do this. I am do craving my go to snack, honey roasted peanuts.
  11. I'm right behind, May 7th. You will do great! I will say a prayer for you too. I also am band to bypass.
  12. I cut out sodas and straws about 6 yrs ago cold turkey. I don't miss either. I love sf Hawaiian punch in the packets for water bottles and sf crush in the pouches. They are perfect. No carbonation
  13. My surgery date is also may 7th. Not so nervous yet. Staying positive and focusing on all the good feedback. This liquid diet tho. Ugh!
  14. Today is day 4 of preop and I am down 8.6 lbs today. I was the most hungry yesterday on day 3. My surgery for bypass is on May 7th. I love in Texas. Just around the corner from y'all
  15. Is Medicare for senior citizens?
  16. Couldn't have said it any better! Perfectly stated.
  17. I am preop and on day 3 of liquid diet. Can only have protein shakes, broth, sf Popsicles and jello. 700-900 calories. I lost 7 pounds in 2 days, but this sluggishness and headache was horrible. I am better today but hungrier for some reason. My surgery is May 7th. how about yours?
  18. My surgery is also may 7th.
  19. I also have the same date for surgery, May, 7th.
  20. Congrats! Today is my second day and I lost almost 4 lbs in one day. (: I had horrible headache/migraine yesterday. Today is 89% better:). I haven't really been hungry. Hope that helps.
  21. That's such a horrible feeling! I would ask for a scope to be done to make sure u do to have it. It has to be done by biopsy. I believe you are required to have a scope anyways. I was told by a friend who is 8 years out that if she has carbs it makes her sleepy and she has to go to bed. I figure I won't be eating high sugar/carb foods. I was told by my nutritionist who had bypass 12 yrs ago, you will not have the cravings you crave now. You don't have to worry about that. Also, with the band your metabolism isn't changed where as the bypass it does change for the better. This is the most successful long term wl surgery with the least revisions. Where do u live?
  22. I still have the lapband and my esophagus is the same as yours. I started gaining weight and went to wl doctor and discovered this. We did a scope and the biopsy shows I have Barrett's esophagus, which is precancerous. I wanted the sleeve cause my sis n law had it 2 year after removing her band with great success. The doctor told me if u have been throwing up or have Gerd/acid reflex or esophagus issues it can make it better by doing bypass. It can get rid of Barrett's also. I am schedule for May 7 th.
  23. You could still benefit. What I read about ketosis on the internet, it can take as little as one day to several days to get there. Everyone is different. Plus if u drink caffeine now, quit before surgery cause won't have it while healing.
  24. I called to see if I could have no sugar fudge Popsicles. I can't cause of the carbs. U have to follow to allow your body to shrink the liver. My head feels much better today, on day 2. (: let's keep on touch.
