    Queasy feeling after eating

Same here I usually feel nauseated when I eat one bite too much. It's a horrible feeling and I ended up growing up once. Lesson learnt :-)
  2. Love the pictorial reminder! Keep inspiring us :-)
  3. It's absolutely normal for you to feel this way at 3 weeks out as it happened to most of us. It is most likely dehydration so make sure you drink a lot of water or any other fluids you can tolerate. Hang in there! You'll be getting your dry back soon.

    African American vsgers!

@@Peekboo I have not experienced any hair loss fortunately. Indeed those stalls are pretty horrible but the good news is always how much you drop right after I am excited for your journey!

In my case I ate 3/4 cup for each meal at this stage :-)

    African American vsgers!

@@Peekboo It's been quite a journey indeed and I am in a very happy place. I don't regret my decision to undergo this surgery at all. The biggest tip I have is that we have to accept this as a lifestyle change - develop healthy habits that transcend in healthier choices for life. I don't believe in eating foods labeled as low fat so I stuck to natural food items while privileging proteins and veggies and limiting my carb intake. My fitness pal was instrumental in my success. I logged everything so it helped me understand what I was consuming. The other important tip is exercise. No matter what you do, you have to perform some level of exercise. In my case I do Zumba and did a lot of aquafit classes in the summer. I also did some light weights which helped a lot with my skin. I am blessed to not have any sagging skin despite the 100+ loss. By adopting a lifestyle change, I've been able to automatically condition my body to healthier living. I just recently went on a month long vacation where I was not able to log daily however came back 10lbs lighter. That was a huge accomplishment and testament to the months of educating myself on healthier living. The other thing I would like to mention is to not worry about the stalls. I have had countless during this journey and kept my eyes focused on the prize! I hope this helps! I can see that you are doing great! Feel free to contact me for any other questions :-)
  7. I am 7 months out and didn't eat "diet" foods. To me diet foods are represented by Splenda, diet drinks, low fat labeled meal items etc. it's important that I define these to level set and state that I didn't eat these types of items. What I did though is made healthier food choices. Meaning eating more proteins and veggies and limiting my carb intake. This is a lifestyle change and not a quick fix so it was important for me to understand how what I consumed impacted my weight. Hence the reason I started using myfitness pal to track my intake and better educate myself on nutritional values of food. It's all about moderation. I also realized that a lot of these "diet" foods (i.e. Splenda) are so bad for you and can lead to other health problems so why bother? For example, instead of regular refined sugar I use German Rock sugar. Is it calorie free? No. But it's not processed and does contain less calories than refined sugar. So my advice is invest time in learning better healthy options so you make a lifelong commitment. It will allow you to occasionally indulge in certain cravings intelligently and moderation. Good luck!!

    I'm hungry alot! Normal?

It might be head hunger so be careful about that cause it can throw you off balance. You should be able to eat every 5 hours at this stage in your process. I was recommended to make sure each meal lasted 20-25 mins as each 5 mins equated an hour of subsisting till my next meal. It worked in my case. Best of luck!

    Hiatal Hernia Repair/Gerd After Surgery

I had the repair but unfortunately still have to take acid reflux meds. It's been 7 months and I am now just trying to see if I can cope without the daily meds. So far it's coming along ok. I've survived 48 hours.

    Angry

Please follow your diet plan diligently. It's not an easy road but if you are beginning to go off track this early in your journey, you will be angry at yourself for a long time. Hang in there! Drink your liquids and protein and when the urge strikes you again to go off plan, think success and stick to the plan. Let me also give you fair warning that you will hit multiple stalls along your journey. Please don't be depressed by them and instead continue working through them cause the weight loss will continue. Good luck, chin up and stay on plan!

    A weird kind of stall

Rest assured that it's normal :-) It's annoying but my doctor had warned me that there would be several stalls along my journey and it's been the case. I can't even count anymore at this rate. The good news is that you will continue to lose so just focus on your healthy habits and the weight loss process will catch up with you after every single stall. Good luck to you.

    So Humiliated...

So sorry to read your story. That was absolutely insensitive from the part of the stewardess. As others have stated, unfortunately these things happen BUT you will find great support here and as you slowly reach your goal, you will never ever have to worry about such abuse again. Hang in there! We are all here to support you!!

Some unexpected NSVs have me LOLing in public. You?

@@LipstickLady what a pleasant read! The hip story had me dying laughing. It's so good to be able to get on such a forum where I find people that can echo some of the experiences I have. Just yesterday, I had a NSV in that I packed up my gym bag to attend a Zumba class right after work. So I got to the gym and changed into what I had grabbed - tights and a t-shirt - that used to fit me really really snuggly. I thought it would fit since what the heck? It was lycra. Boy was I wrong, I spent the entire class pulling the tights up cause they were slipping so couldn't go full out on the moves and the t-shirt was EXTREMELY loose on me. Although the inconvenience of not being able to hop around for fear of dripping my pants, I chuckled as I was reminded that I have indeed lost 73+ pounds!!!! The girl I see in the mirror at the gym has defined legs and a small waist!

    Not losing enough weight

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So proud of you ~ keep that train moving. You've tipped that scale and now down you go towards meeting your goal. It is so important to keep our bodies fueled with food :-) Looking forward to seeing you reach goal soon.
  23. QueenA

    A pound a week :P

Am 4 months out and just last week I lost 5 lbs but this week the scale has not moved. It's an interesting dynamic but just remember that you are not gaining. You are changing your lifestyle forever and this is the tool to maintain that rhythm. All our bodies are different so out paces will be different. I have hot so many stalls that I don't count anymore lol. I just focus on the gradual loss :-) I literally average 1-2lbs on weeks that I actually lose.
  24. QueenA

    Not losing enough weight

You have to be patient with your body. You have lost 51lbs in less than 3 months which is amazing!! The reality is we are all different and the pace at which we lose will be different. There is no exact science dictating how much each of us must lose within a set timeframe. The only true measure is that you gradually lose weight and move from being morbidly obese to a healthy weight :-) Keep your chin up and continue with the great job so far.
