  1. What kind of iron did your Dr. tell you to take post op? My multi does have it but I need extra because my values are low. I tried Vitron C but it made me sick (diarrhea and stomach pains). What form of iron is best?
  2. Yup, been taking my b12. The only value our of range was the iron. I just don't understand why I have GI issues suddenly. I'm hoping it's the iron so I'll go back to normal when I stop taking it.
  3. So I found that I had very low iron through my blood work last month and my Dr. Told me to start taking Vitron C iron supplements and to see hemotology for a possible infusion. Now I've been taking the pills since the beginning of January, and about 2 weeks ago I started having a belly ache and loose stools. At first it was mild and only one time a day, but now my stomach is very tender and I have diarrhea 2 times a day or more and it's urgent! Things seen to be progressively getting worse. The Dr said it might be from the iron and to stop taking it for a week to see if I feel better. My question: anyone rise get diarrhea from iron? Or is it something else?
  4. I have hit a slump, gained about 2 pounds. The thing is my ankles are huge. (It isn't that time of month, at least it shouldn't be) I am drinking around 60-70oz a day and that is a struggle. I am 6 weeks out. So I think the gain is water, but what can I do to get rid of it?
  5. I have trouble swallowing the calcium.I even bought the petites. What does everyone else use? The only chewable ones are caltrate and we need citrate. #frustrated
  6. I used to use rice milk and loved it.but post opp I agree with you, is too many carbs and calories. I got a small container of original, unsweetened soy milk for now.
  7. I feel like I am the only one who isn't really enjoying this experience so far. A lot of the stories are so positive and people bounced back so quick. I had a ton of pain post opp and lots of nausea.in fact I stayed an extra day in the hospital. Now 6 days later I still feel sick to my stomach and I have so much gas. Like the kind you hear and feel growling around but can't pass. I almost feel like I did when I would have a stomach bug. My back is killing me, and I always feel like I have a rock in my belly pulling down on me. I walk a lot so I can't believe it's still gas from the operation. I am drinking as much as I can, but it's not s lot due the discomfort. Please tell me I am not alone.... I have an appt with the surgeon on Thursday to discuss
  8. Right there with you.... I'm on day six.... just keeping my eye on the prize. Lol!
  9. In a few hours I will be having the EGD done. I know it's only under "twilight" but I am still nervous.... very nervous. Please send some positive thoughts and prayers my way. Thanks!

  13. The Lose it app is pretty good too. Not that I use it like I should. I rely need to get back in the habit. Lol
  14. I have one more class too. Pre opp testing, EGD, and 2 week diet also. Getting nervous.... it's getting so close. My date is October 15
  15. Lazy_Lizzy, me too! I am so nervous. I want to be excited for myself but I'm afraid to jinx anything lol. Just really nervous for going under....
  16. I have a date for October 15. Hopefully it doesn't change. I have been a wreck since March when I started this journey and I can't wait to get started on my new life
  17. Hi there ! I am pre op myself and just learning lots of things too! I think with the surgery it sets you body to s new set point.also that I'd why it is so important to get enough protein and take your vitamins. You need to be eating more times a day but very small amounts so your body doesn't slow down your metabolism and go into starvation mode.at least that's what I was told. :-) good luck
  18. Whoknows.... that's good to know. I had a feeling i might need to wait until the maintenance phase to get back to plant based. Dairy makes me feel so sick so i am trying to stay away from it. I tried the soy shakes and they were ok. Right now i am trying the Plant Fusion chocolate protein powder. It's not bad. I will have to try the pumpkin too. That's for the encouragement
  19. I was wondering if anyone has been able to follow a "vegan" post op diet and what that would look like. I am eliminating dairy and trying to limit meat. I don't mind eating eggs. Does anyone have any printables for each phase? Thanks!
  20. Hi there! Today is my first appointment with my surgeon and suddenly I have had a brain fart! What questions should I be asking? What questions did you ask? Thanks!!
