  1. @@Deez416, good luck today!
  2. I was looking at the label in my slacks today. Size 0x Petite. Only in America can a 202 pound person be a size zero. A PETITE size zero. My chuckle of the day.
  3. Well I have words. Woo hoo ! Beautiful! Amazing! Inspirational!
  4. I was feeling so good recently and yesterday my arthritis began another flare. I hate this autoimmune s@&t. Top that off with a bad night's sleep and a stiff and painful neck today and I'm not the most pleasant person right now. Food is clean. I have to get rid of the feeling of unfairness I have when my food is clean and therefore I expect all my health problems to go away permanently.
  5. Jack, love your post. Sport eating, all of it.
  6. Thanks. I am always worried about complications of the band. I appreciate your sharing.
  7. I was on liquids for six weeks post band. If you are too, try not to "wash" your protein through too fast. What I mean is, treat a liquid protein meal just like a solid meal. No drinking for at least half an hour after it. I found that if I let my protein shake "sit" in me for half an hour or more without drinking after, it held me longer. And be sure you're getting enough protein. It's tempting to live on soups in this phase but protein is what holds hunger at bay. Good luck!
  8. And sorry to be a buzzkill but I would opt for the December 8 surgery because if you have issues or questions I'm not sure you're going to be able to reach your regular team over Thanksgiving weekend.
  9. That's not as far away as it sounds. You'll need a pre op diet anyway. Congratulations on getting approved!
  10. I remember reading about you Ilene! Glad you're here and keeping it real. Your commitment inspires me.
  11. Scared to alter my stomach anatomy. Lap band is least invasive and reversible if I ever had digestive problems in old age or anything g unexpected. Also I didn't know anything about sleeve but once I did, it was also more extreme than I liked. My doc offered sleeve to me but still does lots of bands and encouraged either one for me.
  12. I agree. Any of us who have lost weight before only to regain it all over time has that fear. I never doubted I'd lose the weight this time. I'm still scared to death of regaining again.
  13. You said it, Lisa!
  14. Gowalking, you are home on familiar turf and you've got this. No regrets. Vacation is just that. You know how I ate in Italy. The small gain came right off and no I did not continue eating bread each day. Back to basics and no harsh self words Missy! I'm so proud of you!
  15. I don't believe it's Protein or rapid weight loss. I get plenty of protein and have lost weight quickly before without wls. Never lost my hair then. I started to lose hair at 2 months post op and the worst of it was at 5-6 months. Handfuls. I cried. I'm 7 months out now and not losing nearly as much. I had thick hair to start so I just rolled with it. I only take Flintstones Vitamins and don't use any special shampoo or vitamins. There's hope. Just ride it out. I know it's hard.
  16. Lol funny one proudgrammy. Congratulations to the OP!
  17. Do they have any idea what caused the slip? Good luck with the surgery.
  18. Aaagh. So much restriction today. Chew, chew, chew. Small bites. Slow. Live and learn. I will not get stuck today! I'm too hungry! Lol.
  19. Lisa your post gives me hope!!! Congratulations to both of you!!!
  20. Interesting thing happened this weekend. My daughter texted and asked me what clothing store I like because a friend of hers wants to get me a gift. She wouldn't tell me who or why. I was completely befuddled because I have only been shopping at Goodwill since my size changes every few weeks. She wouldn't take Goodwill for an answer. So here I am thinking of all of my plus size stores and realizing that if I stay on track like I am now, I may not need plus size stores by Christmas and definitely not by spring. I have NO IDEA where I would buy normal size clothes! Seriously. I then suggested Kohl's and she apparently wanted something a little more upscale. ????? So we settled on Avenue because they have regular and plus sizes in the same store with many of the same selections in both ranges. This made me realize that I am nearing the land of the normies. That is very scary to me. I know that there are folks on this thread who feel and have felt the same way. I want to assimilate, but my God, I am in a foreign land here. I have no winter coat. I am between a 1-2x depending on the style and can't bear to buy a coat that will fit me for a month or two. I only buy items from Goodwill that I can toss in the washer. Feeling excited but totally out of my element today. (I also feel like I have a Secret Santa! LOL)
  21. Best thing about fasting days is I can drink my coffee right away because I don't have to wait half an hour after Breakfast. I brought some homemade chicken for lunch and baby carrots. I'm so happy this method has helped me to restart my weight loss and achieve one of my big goals. Second big goal within one to two weeks for sure!! My daughter comes in for a visit from college Friday. Can you say motivated to get to Onederland ??? Woo hoo!
  22. Healing. You've been sliced and diced and sewn back together.
  23. Such amazing photos !! You look so good and so happy!
  24. Woo hoo!!! Congratulations ! Hope to be joining you in Onederland very soon!!!!
