3 day post OP
Congratulations and welcome to your new life! Stay connected here. Walk a lot. Karate chops on the neck and shoulder helped me. Every day you should feel a little better, not worse. Stay off the scale. It will drop but then you will gain a bit after a couple of weeks. Don't let that discourage you. Stay on plan and you will start to lose consistently. One year from now you will be amazed at your new self. This will also be a glorious summer for you. How exciting!

Sad, and need guidance
Get a checkup and have your fill level checked. Then just go back to basics. Protein, no sliders, eat slowly. You can do it! Good for you for recommitting!

What made you finally want Weight Loss Surgery?
"I agree with this." Or "this is exactly what I would have said." Sorry. Been hanging around my teens too long. Lol.

Fills and pills stuck?
If they can be crushed, do that. But some are time released and can't be crushed. Can your pharmacy give you a liquid version? I won't allow a fill too tight for me to take my meds. I actually take two Tylenol arthritis caplets during each fill under fluoroscopy before I walk away to make sure I don't get stuck. Good luck.

What made you finally want Weight Loss Surgery?
This. To recap my reason, I needed to get out of my food coma in order to muster the confidence to leave my abusive marriage. Banded in March 2014, moved out with the kids and the dog and filed for divorce in July 2014. Best decision ever.

Is Food More or Less of an Issue Now?
It's less important to my day now but I'm aware of it more. I know that sounds weird but what I mean is, I'm way more conscious of my choices. However, if I can't eat what I planned, or have to choose something boring because my favorite isn't available, it's okay. Food choices used to consume my day. It was my reward for everything, and it had to be perfect. Now it really is fuel, more often than not. But I enjoy it more! Go figure.

Struggling to slow down and chew
Besides cutting tiny bites and putting your fork down between bites, here's a tip that works for me. Set your phone alarm for five minutes. When it goes off, get up from the table, go to the bathroom, wash your hands, and then come back and resume your meal. That short interruption in my meal helps my brain receive the signal that I've eaten something. It gives a chance for the ravenous hunger to be sated. For some reason, this really works for me, particularly in a restaurant. But I do it at home as well. Hope this helps.

You guys are very inspiring!! As for me, I had a lovely Greek salad and saganaki last night, a tiny bit of eggplant spread, and one bite of baklava. I left the restaurant satisfied but not full. It felt amazing. However, I overdid it this week on my poor knee. The 5k on the treadmill Tuesday followed by a 2 mile walk at lunch yesterday left it painfully sore. I woke with knee pain today. I'll tell my trainer we should focus on core and upper body today. My boss gave his notice at work today. I'm really sad. I've worked for him at this company for six years, and at my former company for nine years as well. He is one of the few people I told about my WLS and has been so understanding and generous with time off for appointments, etc. Plus his wife had rny a million years ago and so he knows the ropes. Emotional day.

Do not compare me..!
Just want to say that ten pounds a month is awesome!!

Love???? my band!
You got it! Tonight I went out for Greek food. Saganaki (no bread or dipping oil), a feta cheese Greek salad, a tablespoon of eggplant spread, and One. Bite. Of. Baklava. One bite! And it was enough! No deprivation, no wanting to keep going. It feels SO GOOD to leave a restaurant where I've just eaten some of my favorite food and not feel even remotely stuffed at all! I love my band!!

Random every day questions/thoughts.
This made me think of "punch bunny". Which then made me think of "punch buggy". Did anybody ever play "punch buggy" when you were a kid? When you would see a Volkswagen Beetle drive by, you would punch the person next to you and say "punch buggy blue" or "punch buggy yellow"? I've also heard it played as "slug buggy."

Bra help!
I've actually been wearing Cacique for about 9 months, and since I don't jump around a lot at the gym, I haven't had a problem. Maybe I'll just skip the sports bra.

Paying it forward! Workout advice!
I'm at the beginning of exercise myself and I hired a trainer for twelve sessions. It helps a lot. On alternate days I just walk the treadmill for an hour.

I walked a 5k at the gym yesterday. scale keeps bouncing. Today I had eggs for Breakfast, almonds and yogurt parfait for lunch. Probably going out for Greek food tonight. I'll stick with a feta salad and saganaki if we do. No bread. I plan to hit the gym on the way home for another treadmill 5k. It takes me an hour. I feel so good when I'm done. My knees are sore but not painful.

With Trepidation
The dimming of physical hunger makes it different for me. I really believe I can do this for life now.
