  1. Woo hoo! That's so exciting!
  2. Hope it went well and you're resting now. It gets better each day!
  3. I'm so glad to see you here! Very wise words.
  4. I was expecting literally zero change. This was encouraging to me. Now I want to get back in there and step it up!
  5. I got measured yesterday at my final session with my personal trainer. I didn't expect any changes because I had only relied on the scale, and my weight actually went up one pound. However, this made me realize that the work I've been doing really is having an effect on my body. I'm disappointed in the waist measurement. I always have trouble losing the belly. But he used a machine that measures body fat and mine went down one percent. My waist and chest did not go down, but my arms and hips and thighs and calves did. I worked out more in the beginning, and have slacked off recently with excuses about not having time with my new work schedule and my daughters borrowing my car in the evening. But these measurements made me see it's worth it to make the effort. Exercise needs to be a priority. Take a look at these stats. This is two months of working out between 1-3 times a week. I never ever measured myself before. I'm so glad I did.
  6. I stocked up on soups and pulled out my blender. By adding extra veggies, and even some meats to the blender with the soups, I was able to puree quite a bit. Chili was a favorite for that phase. Good luck!
  7. I'm so sorry about your pets. Praying for your husband.
  8. I went out with my 55-yo BFF recently (I'm 54) and she was offered the senior discount. She took it. I was mortified. She was mortified that I was mortified. She's of the mindset that, a buck saved is a buck saved. I'm of the mindset that, you offer me a senior discount before I'm 95 and using a walker, and you'll never get my business again. I do realize this is my issue. See, I'm recently separated and down 100 pounds. In my mind, I'm 28 again. Only more fit and taking no s--t. I'm happy in my delusional world.
  9. Just last week! I bought a maxidress and didn't like the waistline. My daughter (!) gave me one of her stretch belts with a big buckle. It was perfect. The best part? Borrowing from her closet!
  10. If you're on an iPhone, tap the post once and then options pop up for like, quote, etc.
  11. Two pounds in a week is good.
  12. Welcome to the forums. Your knees will be so much better after weight loss! I was in horrible pain at over 300 pounds and at 197 I walked my first 5k this summer. No NSAIDs, just the occasional Tylenol. Truly a miracle.
  13. That is sad to hear. Some people are truly messed up.
  14. How was your week? Did you feel the difference?
  15. Never ever ever give up on yourself.
  16. My favorite is thin cucumber slices in a pitcher of ice water. I can easily drink a lot of water that way.
  17. Although my surgeon asked me why I wouldn't consider the sleeve over the band, he did not push me into the sleeve. He performs many lapbands. I would shy away from a surgeon that wasn't 100 percent in agreement with your choice of surgery.
  18. It's funny but his thread made me realize how many meals I eat out of a cereal bowl now instead of a big plate. I guess I just naturally downsized without thinking about it.
  19. No worries. I flew 6+ hours a couple of weeks after my first fill without problems. Plan to not eat during the flight or immediately afterwards. Eat before. Hydrate during the flight. Wait a couple of hours afterward and eat something soft as your first meal. That's just worse case scenario. Many people report feeling tighter when flying and I believe it, because hey, my feet and hands swell and it's the same process. But I had no problems. I even did eat on the flight back. Have fun!
  20. @@Alex Brecher, any idea when the store will open?
