  1. Sending prayers for both of you. You're one strong lady!
  2. The powder Room wouldn't let me make a post, so I'll try this here. Are there any brands of panties that are actually pretty on a person with a panni (apron)? Finally found a bra style I like. But I never, ever have been able to find panties that look nice on my body, 100 pounds ago or now. I'm years away from plastics, if ever. Any recommendations, ladies?
  3. Where I'm living right now gets NO trick or treaters, so I don't have to buy candy. Candy is also not my trigger. I can easily pass it by, even chocolate. As long as I don't start. Two friends and I are going to a Halloween party at a local ballroom. It was such fun to buy a costume off the rack that fit me on the first try. I plan to nurse my cranberry juice and have lots of fun.
  4. I would try it.
  5. Hi friends. I have been reading but not posting. It's been a very stressful couple of weeks. Two weeks ago was my mother-in-law's wake and funeral. Yesterday I had a deposition. Over three hours of questions, many hostile, from opposing counsel. I was extremely stressed out over it in anticipation the entire week. It was difficult and infuriating, but as in all things, it served to make me stronger. I learned a few things. I'm better answering on my feet than I thought I was. Although he won't say so, it appears from his comments about the house appraisal that my wasband will opt to stay in the family residence instead of sell. We're going to have a fight about the dog. And one big thing I learned is that I don't have the temperament to be an attorney (always wondered if I should have pursued other career options in my youth). "Wasband" is my new, shorter version of NSETBEx. I stole the term from my divorce support group. During all of this, my food has been moderate but I have not been losing. I have a fill appointment next week. I'm going to go for a tiny fill but I'm pretty tight at times already, so this is getting chancy now. I want a good thorough discussion with my NP before she gives me the fill. I hope to post more here in the next couple of weeks now that the deposition is behind me. Next step is pretrial hearing in a few weeks. My lawyer also wants to set a trial date at that hearing and the judge is already choosing trial dates in March. So if this goes to trial, the date for that could be March or April. At least things are moving, albeit slowly. Thanks for always being here and sharing your lives. Even when I don't post, I get so much strength from this thread.
  6. Furthermore, you can ask for a numbing agent on the skin before they put the needle in. Then you truly feel almost nothing. I'm not afraid of needles, but I always get the numbing agent anyway.
  7. Happy birthday! Your post was very inspiring. Way to go!
  8. Hang tough. Yes, it's real and it sucks. But it's very temporary. The payoff is so so so worth it.
  9. Good luck and speedy healing.
  10. I'm so happy for you both!!!
  11. The wake and funeral were difficult for my daughters and me but I am so immensely proud of them and grateful to God for giving me such wonderful daughters. They have taken the high road in all encounters with my ex's family and truly exhibit grace under pressure. Ive been driving for what feels like forever so I am glad I have tomorrow off. Legal crapola tomorrow. It never ends!!
  12. Sascrotch. That is all.
  13. I just got home from my divorce support group and heard, again, what is the wisdom of those who have gone before me: a healthy relationship can only come after I am emotionally complete on my own without another person. Until then, I am unconsciously trying to fill a hole with another person that can never be filled, and will draw to me people who either consciously or unconsciously have a similar need to merge with/control an incomplete person. Recipe for disaster (and my marriage was one disaster I don't care to repeat).
  14. Debbie, you look beautiful!
  15. My mother in law died yesterday. I am driving to St. Louis to pick up my daughters for the Monday wake. You won't hear much from me. This won't be easy.
  16. Oh, Sharpie, I am so sorry! I am In shock and tears reading this. God bless you. Please stay connected.
  17. Yes it's work, but worth it. It's the first time in my life I've been able to keep weight off. Good luck and stay connected.
  18. Edited to add: my other friend said I should have gone anyway and puked on his shoes.
  19. Well, mid afternoon a migraine set in. I tried to sleep it off when I got home from work but the nausea was debilitating. I didn't go to the appraisal, which he scheduled for 10:30pm. It wasn't required that I be there, but I was entitled to. I didn't tell him I was sick, just emailed that I had an unexpected conflict and to proceed without me. I didn't want to walk into that lion's den late at night when not at my physical and mental best. I'm sure I made the right decision. My dear friend has a theory that my body knew I shouldn't go, so it sent me the migraine to make sure I didn't expose myself to more crazy. She may be on to something. No regrets. I'll get the appraisal copy from my attorney.
