  1. HEY LADIES! Woke up this morning so nauseous, I can't even stay standing. brushing my teeth made me gag tip I threw up. I am on Day 2 of my period. Only 3 weeks post op. Had really bad cramps yesterday but today is crazy. Yesterday, I had a Protein shake, some egg whites, and a yogurt. Today I am currently choking down a Protein Shake. Has anyone experienced this type of sickness during their period after their surgery? I appreciate your responses
  2. Did you take any Gas X strips? I started taking them every few hours immediately after surgery and wasnt in nearly as much pain as the other sleeve patients at my hospital.
  3. I feel your pain girl! I had four spoonfuls of pureed Soup last night and it put me to bed! it will get better! Still three days out, I would pop a anti acid and a gas x strip... thats what makes me feel better.
  4. Honestly, if you have trouble choking down shakes like I do, you should try optimum nutrition Gold Standard double chocolate Protein shakes with skim plus milk. Taste like hot cocoa on ice! delish and not thick at all. The powder has 24 grams of protein per scoop. The milk has 11 grams. Goes down so easy and its like dessert for breakfast.
  5. Wonderful!! I hear BCBS is a lot smoother to deal with than most other insurance companies. AETNA made me resubmit three times! and they still had a coverage cap! GO YOU! good luck with everything
  6. Maybe its too early for cream of wheat? I was told not to start eating cream of wheat or creamy Soups until the "mushies" or pureed stage which is two weeks after. One week after surgery, I started incorporating Protein shakes for Breakfast and broth throughout the day.. some applesauce but it gave me bad heart burn. Maybe the cream of wheat is too starchy for 6 days out
  7. Soooo I am only 2 weeks post op..I saw my surgeon a week ago.. I showed an 18 pound loss in the first week. At our meeting last wednesday, he said when we meet again (two weeks from then) he expects the same amount of progress. Well, I havent lost a pound since thursday.. I am doing two Protein shakes a day, broth for dinner, and sugar free ice pop after dinner... How long do stalls usually last?
  8. You look AMAZING. You are an inspiration!!
  9. You said it hurts? in what way? Today was my first day progressing from liquids to purees.. I tried pureed black bean soup and after two spoonfuls i felt a tightness in my chest and my stomach was gurgling... I guess that was the STOP SIGN .. Is that a similar feeling your having?
  10. Not being able to buckle the seatbelt in the middle seat on a plane was mortifying yet wildly entertaining to the gentlemen I was stuck between!
