  1. He's had to have done a biopsy then right? I was a little overwhelemed when he explained it so i may have missed a few details. I have a friend who had bypass who is fine now but for months after surgery she was in mad misery & im so afraid of having the same experience.
  2. I was recently told the same thing...i had prepped for a sleeve and really prefer not to get bypass so im at a crossroads.
  3. No biopsy (that im aware of)...he said the chances of it becoming cancerous is very low but im also young so if anything "should" go wrong... He put me on reflux meds about a month ago.
  4. So for 3 months i have studied, researched and decided on getting a sleeve. After my egd results showed a small barrett...my surgeon is recommending bypass. The barrett is not of great concern but if it should become an issue, a sleeve would create difficulty in treating or following up on it. I really dont want to get bypass. And im considering not even getting surgery if i cant get the sleeve. Has anyone run into this issue with barretts?
  5. Yikes! You were put through the ringer! Im glad all has turned out well. Im liking the other post op stories a little better but all experiences help my prep. Im kinda preparing for the worst right after but hoping for the best. Are you lactose intolerant now?
  6. How many days out are you now? How much have you lost? How long was your hospital stay? I wonder if anyone stays away from the scale after surgery? It sounds tempting!
  7. Im curious as to how much you've lost at 5 weeks out? Hows your energy?
  8. I'll tell more after surgery...i just dont want anyone to discourage me or give me second thoughts. My mind is made...my body is next.
  9. Sounds like education can remedy the dumping...& luck for recovery
  10. That is awesome! You're my hero right now! I just found out about the switch yesterday & todays my last NUT appt required for insurance...I hope to find out a little more later today. I hope I come out as smooth as you. My anxiety is kickin up like it did in the beginning over what can go wrong. I know I need to chill. I may be better off with bypass. Keep me informed on your progress will ya Mrs.glo!
  11. Im pretty new here (hi!). I've been anticipating a sleeve for the last 3 months & due to a result from my EGD, my doc is recommending bypass instead. Some of the things I'm stressing about is the recovery before returning to work (i have a desk job & really need to be back after 2 weeks) and dumping. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect with these concerns? I have a friend that had bypass about 2 years ago and she was miserable for the 1st few month & it scares the crap outta me. Thanks all!
  12. Sounds a lot like mine. What state are you in?
  13. Lmao I just realized I asked if you were going through insurance! What I meant was what are the requirements for yours?
  14. Right! All will go well! Are you going through insurance? Hang in there...I just keep trying to just go on with my business and not get too obsessed about it all lol. My time will come. I love this site though! Maybe we can buddy up with our surgeries landing so close. May 16th is My bday too...what a gift!
