Hi... Oh banded ones.. I made it I was banded Friday Aug.1st at 11:30 am.. Spent the night in the hospital. CHOMP( community hospital of the Monterey peninsula) The hospital was wonderful. My doctor was Mark Vierra. I can't say enough about him.. I feel wonderful. A little discomfort yesterday but mostly not. I have pain meds if I need them. And again not.. I can't believe how worried I was. I almost called it off. This for me is a walk in the park. All my normal meds went down with not a hitch. I was worried about that. I do have one recommendation to make... Tuck your blankets and sheets really tight.. You can use them to help get you out of bed. if no one is around it works fine. I really think it is going to be o.k. In the hospital everyone kept saying congratulations on my surgery:thumbup::teeth_smile:... Can you imagine congratulation how cool is that... Most of all I want to thank everyone on this site... You are some smart cookies, you really helped me. Thank you for being there..

I have to be there by 9am I'm so nervous..... do you have to stay overnight? I do.:biggrin:

Hi.... I have to be there by 9am and I have done the same things that you had... On the site reading every story... I also scared myself. Today has been half way between hell and heaven. I'm sure you know how I feel. My husband is blind and this will be the first time he is alone at the house. We have gone over everything but the added stress is not cool. We have a 8 month old puppy and what ever happens it happens. We live so far from our family and will be on our own... Another like challenge.. I just want it to be over. The doctor said I have to stay over night and that will be hard. Good luck...We can take this journey togeather...:biggrin:

My doctor swears by Flintstones with iron chew able 2 a day 1 am 1 pm:smile2:

Shinyhappymommy, Great for you.. I'm a short timer with all the fears and excitement I can handle.. Sometimes I can't wait others I have my hand on the phone to cancell... Yesterday I had almost talked myself into calling to stop the surgery.. Then my husband came out of no where and said how happy for me he was.. I made him swear on his mother's grave he wasn't just trying to make me happy. He did. I hadn't said anything to him it made me think it would be o.k. I'm really looking forward to my new life.. But I know if you guys weren't here it would be a lot harder. Today we will shop for my supplies.. Anything I can't live without? Friday at 11:30 am I will have my surgery....... Thanks for being there....

Tonni I'm freaking out!!!!!!!!! I think the negative thoughts are normal...I hope because I've got them also... My surgery is this Friday and I just want to get this show on the road... Good Luck These Posts have been a real life saver..

I have Cronhs. i will be banded Aug. 1st. So to anwser your question yes.. I will be the first for my Doc and he has been doing this for years...

Hi I'm so nervous and excited at the same time... So many questions and don't know if anyone can help that much I think you have to experience it first hand.... Good Luck on your journey... So far it has been long they make you jump through a lot of hoops, but it is worth it I hope.... Keep Posting and again Good Luck :thumbup:

Me to... I'm so nervous. Saw Dr. Vierra yesterday for my pre-op and I can tell you I really am apprehensive.. I fell so bad I had to do this.. I ,too, want control in my life... Ten years ago I lost 78 lbs. and got down to a 125 and loved it for 3 years and I had to have surgery and lost my routine and away it all went. I could not get it back. I'm so afraid of failing. I want to do well I really do. One more thing did any of you have problems with you friends and family. I'm tired of the comments. Your not that over weight. You should just get Jenny Craig or something. But they all can tie their shoes. My friends almost seem like they don't want to deal with me different.. One even said don't change a thing you are fine...NOT...
