  1. Running without discomfort, being able to shop in any store I want, wearing cute under garments, not being the "fat friend" in the group, and just being able to be active (go on spur of the moment hikes, ride my bike to the grocery store without it feeling difficult, etc).
  2. I totally know that feeling Good for you - I too am happy to be a healthier mom for my three kids!
  3. I'm only a month out but I'm still incredibly grateful to have chosen to have the VSG. No regrets honestly. But I certainly was not prepared for the emotional rollercoaster it would put me on (mourning food, being sad about portion size, etc). I'm working through these things with the therapist I've been seeing for the past year, but I was just genuinely unprepared for all the food issues that would come up. Physically however, I'm feeling fabulous
  4. Looking great! Love that you took it from the same pose
  5. One thing I've learned from reading these boards is that there is no normal. I totally know what you mean wanting to know what's normal though!!
  6. You sure have!! Lookin' great!
  7. Good for you, really. It's victories like that that make this worth it!
  8. I really appreciate the responses everyone. It's comforting to know I'm not alone This whole surgery is such a process and I honestly did not really realize how fully encompassing it would be until it happened! Grieving food is such an odd feeling, but I'm glad to know it won't last!
  9. I have no advice, just a million hugs your way. I say at this point you can make all the demands you want - your body has been through hell!
  10. The past few days I've really felt the loss of food/old habits. I've been feeling lonely and this is a big trigger for me to turn to old habits. Obviously, I cannot and will not eat anything off my food plan (both because my stomach is tiny and because I am 110% committed to my health and progress). So instead, I've been staring longingly at Pinterest food pictures (lame, I know). I'm in a weird in between place with school and work and I know that's contributing to these blah feelings as well. I'm just looking for advice from those of you who have gone through a similar phase - thanks!
  11. That's a GREAT nsv!

  17. My insurance did not require a PC approval letter. Maybe yours won't either? Regardless, I still had a conversation with my PC and he was really happy for me
  18. I use myfitnesspal.com - I love that it has a pie chart option with carb, protein, and fat designation so I can see how I've eaten for the day. Great phone app and easy to use online as well.
  19. For me, I almost instantly throw it right back up
