Acid Reflex and the Sleeve
I am having my gallbladder removed before my sleeve surgery and during sleeve surgery they are also repairing hiatal hernia. These procedures are supposed to help with the acid reflux I get. Has anyone else had their gallbladder removed prior to surgery? Did it help even after sleeve surgery?

gallbladder
Thank you. This will be my first surgery ever. I'm a little nervous. I wish I had a second chance to not mess this body of mine up to begin with. It is what it is and time to fix it all now once and for all.

gallbladder
The Dr said that the stomach is on one side and the gallbladder is on the other and they have different risks and they do not do both at the same time .

gallbladder
OK so I had my appointment. I need to have my gallbladder removed. I have gallstones. I also have hiatal hernia. The gallbladder surgery will be a separate surgery from my sleeve and hiatal hernia repair during sleeve. Then when all is said and done I can stop talking 8 excedrin and popping zantac150 like candy every day. So it's a positive I guess. It is a reality if nothing else. Just trying to find the silver lining.

Why VSG
It is kind of therapeutic isn't it? A kind of confession from the soul and acknowledgement of why we want this or have done this. Not everyone understands or agrees but they sure can't argue our lists are not full of great reasons for wls .

Why VSG
We are all going to conquer these goals and NEVER feel these bad feelings again!

local Vegas clothing exchange
In 6 months, 4 months after my surgery, I want to have a clothing exchange. Bring a bag of clothing in good condition that doesn't fit anymore, and leave with a bag that does fit! Exchange stories and tips and support each other and have fun! Anyone from Vegas area out there who would like to meet up? Size 16 right now. So October is the month for the first clothing exchange/support group meeting. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Why VSG
That feeling when a regular bath towel fits around my body When I don't feel like sleeping all day and hiding away from the world Knowing how it feels to go into the dressing room and stand before the mirror in single digit clothing and it fits and looks good People come up to you and say Omg you look great how are you losing weight Not being the fattest person in the room Not cringing when your photo is taken Tank tops in the summer and your arms look good Not having to wear jeans in 120 degree weather Climbing the stairs and not out of breath Being naked in front of my husband and the lights are on Shopping for clothes and the size is not accompanied by an X at all Being able to go to a pool party Knowing I'm eating better and my son will have his mommy that much longer

gallbladder
What I meant is that normally I would be getting my sleeve surgery in June. I still have my sleep study to do and blood work and nutritionist consult. If the doctor thinks it is necessary to operate on my gallbladder before June, would they move ahead with the sleeve at that time?

gallbladder
Oband medical center just called. They want me to meet up with the doctor to go over my gallbladder results tomorrow. OK so we all know it's not good. They wouldn't call and set up an appointment with the Dr. One day later if nothing was wrong. Let's say it's something they feel needs surgery. Do they wait and do it when I get my sleeve or move up the sleeve surgery? Can they if there's something wrong? Will the insurance company cover that? Now I'm a little freaked out. Not gonna lie

My mom won't stop telling people...
Thank you. I just wish I could help my mom be better and healthier. I love her so much. Can't bear the thought of the day she is gone.

My mom won't stop telling people...
I'm not so worried about who my mom tells but rather what she thinks and how it affects her. Before she retired one of the ladies at her work had gastric bypass. She got real sick and was unsuccessful with her weight loss. She actually gained weight. So now this is what she has in her mind when she hearts wls. Today my mom tells me how she went to the Dr. And has been diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure and arthritis. My great grandma died of diabetes. I wanted to tell her about how in June I will be getting the sleeve surgery done . I wanted to share with her all the stories and people I've met who have been successful and who are not sick anymore because of surgery . But I felt her out a little and brought up a friend of mine from my job who had the sleeve a year ago and how he had health issues last year that have disappeared along with over 100lbs. She said that she completely disagrees with surgery and it's dangerous. I couldn't tell her. Maybe after I've had surgery and shown how it works and that I am OK afterward she'll look at it differently. ?? I don't want her to be sick and I don't want to die from diabetes some day. But I don't want her to worry about me on top of her stress with her health.

diabetes
My mom just told me she was diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure and arthritis. She told me that it runs in our family and that my great grandma died of diabetes. Fabulous. Wish these 6 months would go by already so that I can start my journey! June hurry up! Sleep study nutritionist consult and blood work left.

Nothing tastes good
I have not had surgery yet but food has lost its flavor to me? Things I used to love to eat does not taste like it used to and also makes me sick. What's up with that? I guess for whatever reason this is happening, it will make it easier to give up those things after surgery.
