  1. We are twins. I've done it all too. lol
  2. Right here! We all are I think. At least to a degree.
  3. Yay best of luck from me too!
  4. No date yet but I will be in July too
  5. Therapy is not going to change anything. I accept my family for who they are and I love them. Dealing with new emotions and changes due to surgery might be something I look into therapy for however. Everyone's family has issues of some sort. I've come to terms with it. I am doing this for me not them. It's all good:)
  6. My friend at work is 3 months out and she is doing a lot better with the mentality and emotions that come along with this life changing decision. I think it's because the results are showing and it's all paying off. It helps to reaffirm why she did this, why we all do this. It's hard and a long rough road, but you will succeed and a year from now you'll be on here with your surgiversary beautiful transformation photos and people will be like. " I cannot wait to be successful like you" " you look so awesome! " I will be following your journey and cheering you on!
  7. I have a friend at work who is now 3 months post op along with her husband. She is my go to for everything. Between her and all of you on here I am hoping that is enough support to help me when I am post op and needing a shoulder. I will research what type of therapy is available post op if needed. What limitations were the toughest for you to deal with? It is scary to think of how much different it will be and that this is not reversible but I so want it. I need this. Thank you for your support.
  8. So awesome. You are incredible!
  9. The doctor just told me at my 4th month follow up that I am officially approved for surgery and only need to show up for two more monthly appointments to weigh in for the insurance requirements and then July is surgery month! When will I get a date? ! After the 6th appointment? How is it that so many people know their dates so early? I know within 2 wks after my 6th appointment I will be approved by my insurance. Possibly sooner. God I am going crazy waiting!
  10. OK so a little background first. I've gone up and down throughout my life on my weight. The largest I've been is about 218lbs and the smallest has been about 135lbs. I love my family, but I haven't told anyone (just hubby and my daughter), especially my mom, that I am having sleeve surgery in July. Partially because she is dealing with being diagnosed with stage 2 diabetes and high blood pressure and partially because I know she'll worry and try to talk me out of this. My mom is sweet and does everything for everyone but she says things at times that hurt and i don't think she realizes it. Like I shouldn't wear heavy makeup because I have hard features, or I should really lose weight because I take after her and I might get what she has (the diabetes, etc.) Today she told me my 8 year old son tends to put weight on and I need to get him to like vegetables. I try with him. We put him in baseball soccer and basketball. I give him 1% milk and limit going out to dinner anywhere and started to bake chicken and avoid his favorite fried chicken. It's a work in progress. Anyways you get the picture. I just cannot wait to have this surgery and begin the weight loss and not be the focus of her attention to my weight problem. It hurts too much. My oldest sister was the one with a weight problem growing up. She solved it by throwing up all of her food. Which she still does. She eats and then excuses herself and claims the food is stuck in her throat and she sticks her finger down her throat and that is how she stays thinner. She thinks we don't know. When she loses weight, her bones show on her chest and collar even though she still shows heavier from the waist down. My mom will be like going on and on about how thin she looks . Then she says i look healthy. She may as well call me fat. It's a kind of inside joke that we all want mom to say she's thinking we look too thin and if she says we look healthy, it's time to diet. I so wish it was July already. These 6 months have allowed me to research and prepare and complete my requirements, but it has been so hard to wait. Now it feels like it's going to happen even though I still have until July. I want to feel good. I want to look good. I want to be healthy. I will end up telling my mom and other family members but not until about 6 months post op. Mom freaked out last month when I had my gallbladder out. She really will freak when she discovers that a huge part of my stomach has been removed. But by then she'll see that it's all good and I'm better because of it and I will have spared her all the worry of the surgery and the recuperating after. Ultimately my goal is for health issues, but yes, I want to look good and I want to not be the FAT relative in the room.
  11. Yayyyy good for you! !! I am so ready for this!
  12. Yayyyy. You look fabulous! Wow 3 months! I am in a16 pants and xxl shirts and xl shirts. I get my sleeve in July. If I can be as successful as you I will be so happy. How was your first weeks? Any tips you can give me?
  13. I live in Henderson Nevada. Close to Vegas. It is a lot of emotions isn't it? Thank you, good luck to you as well. Where are you at in your journey? Are you done with all the tests and appointments?
  14. Awesome! You are an inspiration to us all! I pray I am successful as you have been. I am what you would call a professional dieter as most of us are. I've taken 85lbs off in 16 wks and 95lbs in 8 months. I've always been very competitive and succeeded but put it back on. I am hoping by making this commitment it will help keep it off. I will do my best and follow all directions given to me. I have had the talk with my husband and stressed the importance of this and how it's my time to focus on me and what I'll need from him. Thank you for your guidance and advice it means so much to me!
  15. Thank you! Most everyone has been so very nice. It feels like I've been on a roller coaster and have been climbing slowly to the top and now I'm getting ready to roll over the top and head down now at a much faster rate. I'm ready for the ride and the twists and turns and whatever else comes my way. I know there will be pain and struggles and possible complications and emotional ups and downs. I just want it to begin so that I may get it done and the worst behind me. I look forward to being a year post op and wonder how I'll feel and what I will look like. So exciting knowing positive changes are heading my way and that in one year I will most likely feel comfortable in a pair of shorts and a tank top. The simplest things. Wearing what I do now in 120 degree weather is so miserable but I am not about to wear clothes that reveal my arms legs and any other part of my body. I can't wait until my feet do not hurt anymore, among other aches and pains due to the excess weight I carry. What about you? How far out are you? Where are you at in your journey?
  16. Not really . I think I need to go on my computer and search around and learn how to maneuver around rather than my phone. There are things that are available that I cannot do on my phone I understand. Like add friends. Thanks for the info though
  17. Sergey lyass is my surgeon. I live here so I do know how hot it is lol. Been here since 1987 and still run and hide from the heat hang out at the mall or the theater. Sometimes it is so hot there's power outages. We Were going to try to plan a camping trip during August maybe to get out of here.
  18. Went in for my fourth month follow up appointment today and the doctor says I'm clear and approved. Just have 2 appointments to satisfy the insurance requirements and it's off to surgery.
  19. Sleeve surgery in July in Las Vegas. Anyone else in July in Vegas?
  20. Wow pretty incredible! You should be so proud
  21. Congratulations! !! That is so awesome! Wtg. I wish nothing but great success and a speedy smooth recovery after your surgery. We are all praying for you!
  22. Ok I agree! I'm 5ft about 211lbs . I started my 6 month required diet 4 months ago. I'm borderline bmi so I was told to not lose weight. I should have surgery in July. My goal is to be about 130lbs. That's about a size 6 on me. I cannot wait for my surgery and I'm terrified at the same time. How about you?
