Hey i am Amanda 29 and found about this on Facebook. I am 2 years out had my surgery December 8th 2011. I did gastric bypass because i injured my back at work (fedex) bulging disc doctor said I needed to lose weight and I re injured it bad and it turned into a herniated disc. So the doctor said he would approve the weight loss surgery for this reason. So all is done I had to get my gallbladder out and have hypothyroidism and PCOS vitamin D deficiency and an anal fistula from the catheter believe it or not 2 severe ulcers and 2 hernias removed and I recently had 2 get back surgery regardless so it was unfortunately unavoidable. I lost 60 lbs and I feel to me that's not enough for gastric bypass. I workout hard and I am very active at work. In my mind it makes no sense how I do what I am supposed to do but I know some people who eat junk and had the same procedure and are down to 120 lbs and weight like 290 lbs where I went from 235 to 175 I know we are all different but I try hard. But this is my everyday struggle so initially I do feel like I sorta failed or maybe that the suurgery failed is a better choice of words but I mean health wise internally I am ok and I should b ok with this for now. I am hard on myself but will always strive for more because that recovery is and was not easy.
