  1. Wanted to share the news. I hit the 40lbs loss mark!!
  2. I am so glad that my bariatric center did these on site.
  3. Wow that is really something to be proud of. Your doing amazing!!
  4. I am like MYTIME45, I also had a hiatal hernia that they discovered during surgery and repaired. I do feel discomfort if moving in certain directions, nothing horrible, but noticeable. Also was given a longer restriction time for lifting and exercising.
  5. Oh darlin', sorry to tell ya the shake continue after surgery for a couple more weeks.
  6. Are you sure its $35,000 not 3500. Are you just having the sleeve? I self paid for my surgery for less then $12,000
  7. I blend mine with ice all the time and add flavored food extracts (coconut, raspberry, etc and PB2 powder sometime to change up the flavor
  8. There is a website that you can "rent" plus clothing and send them back and they will send you more outfits. This way your not spending a ton of money on clothing that in a few months won fit. I have not used them yet as I am just 2 week post op but a co worker had the sleeeve in August and gave me the info. Check it out if you like. gwynniebee.com/
  9. Am now able to have pureed foods!! YAY!! Stop and got pintos and cheese since there are SO MANY post about them during pureed phase. I have had my little cup for over an hour and I am terrified of taking the first bite!!!
  10. I am 2 weeks post op and experience the same. I also had a hernia repair and I think it is the swelling.
  11. I am 2 weeks post op tomorrow and I was on clears for 4 days. Then onto creamed strained soups, I have had tomato as well. I was told that everything must go through a strainer at this point for a full 2 weeks. Then to pureed. Everyone plan is different.
  12. A friend of mine had the sleeve done a year ago and at week three decided it was ok to have a 1/2 of a chic-fila sandwich and a few sips of a sprite. Needless to say ended up back in surgery the next day. I am 2 weeks out and on phase 2 full liquid and will be for another week.
  13. Poohbear, This is a serious surgery so only you can answer if you wish to have it. However this is my story. My High weight was 301 at the beginning of Feb 2014, I decide to make an appt just to get info about the sleeve. Appt was 2/9/14. I have no insurance, and it was the main reason I didn't go sooner. After meeting with the surgeon that same day I decided to self pay and move on in journey to a healthier me. Started pre-op diet 2/12/14 lost 21 lbs, I had surgery 3/4/14, now down a total of 34 lbs. Best decision I ever made and I am only 2 week post-op.
  14. I am 2 weeks post op tomorrow and I wasn't able to stomach (haha) the Protein shake until about day 5 and I had to do it one ounce at a time. So i just focused on one ounce every hour for the first few days and now I can get 2 ounce down an hour. which is getting me in 2 premier Protein shakes per day and 60 grams o f protein. I also add soft cheese to my broth and sometimes do a cup of hot chocolate made with skim milk to get a bit more in.
  15. Hi Abry, Nice to see a fellow Texan. Just had my surgery on 3/4/14 and I was on on Clear Liquids for 4 days and now on Full Liquids for 2 weeks, then onto pureed food for 2 weeks then soft foods for another 2. I was also on clear liquids plus Protein shakes for 3 1/2 weeks prior to surgery.
  16. I was given one as well and I had to do it for ten times an hour for one week
  17. I am still on Phase 2 liquid until the 21st. My Doc makes us do 2 weeks of this before pureed. How is it going to something more solid?
  18. I was also sleeved March 4 and we have lost exactly the same. I am thrilled for the loss. You must remember that although you feel great you are still probably swollen and retaining Fluid as well. Have you had regularly bowel movements? Have you began phase 2 with the creamed Soups (taking in more calories then previous weeks)? Are you near your cycle? All these could be factors. My understanding is that a stall is 2 weeks or more at the same weight.
  19. I experienced slight pain when liquid hit the belly for the first 3 to 4 days. Warm and room temps felt better then really cold or hot. I also had the WTH did I do to myself moments but each day gets better and better. No real regrets however. Your doing just fine Miss Janey.
  20. I had mine the same day!! I am down 12 lbs! My staples were removed today and will be on Full liquids (phase 2 until the 21st, then on the pureed.
  21. Gas X strips worked well for me and having someone beat on my back.
  22. So you decided to go through with it! That's great. Glad you're well. I'm still having trouble with liquids too, seems we all do :/. I love Water, but the Protein Shakes SUCK.
  23. I would love it if you could email me the list as well. Thanks
  24. Ok Ladies and Gents, Today is the day. I am off to the hospital for a 5 am check in. Good luck to my fellow sleevers today! Thanks everyone!
