  1. Great post; thanks for the words of wisdom!
  2. My tentative date was June 16th.... it's now been set for June 2!!! I'm really looking forward to it!
  3. That's why I wish our height showed up under our names along with all the other stuff.
  4. Dr. Baker or Dr. Nagel will be doing my surgery hopefully June 16th in Petoskey. Looking forward to it!!! It's nice hearing stories from about the doctors who'll do the surgery; thanks for posting!
  5. I have been reading up on the sleeve for almost a year now. And this site had given me a wealth of information! I've read the good stories AND the bad stories; I know full well what could happen during and after surgery. I'd never go into something this major without knowing the goods and the bads; so, while I hope for a good recovery, I also realize it could be not so good, and I'll accept and deal with whichever version I'm given. I'm so sorry you had such a terrible time; hopefully you will feel back to normal soon...and in a thinner body
  6. June 16th here; time is going soooo slooooow.
  7. You look great, Faith! Keep up the good work!
  8. I can't tell you about the liquid diet stuff, but WOW would I be upset if I had been prepped, taken to surgery, and then wake up to find out it didn't happen!! Wow...I'm sorry you're going through this!
  9. Good for you for taking those baby steps. At times, I find myself thinking "I'm going to eat whatever I want NOW, because after surgery I know things will be different", and then I stop, and think "No, STOP thinking like that! Eating whatever I want is how I got where I am", and I realize that by making changes Now, before surgery, my weight loss should be more successful after surgery.
  10. I found this thread to be a wealth of information! : 4 things I wish I would've known pre-op: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/289288-4-things-i-wish-i-wouldve-known-pre-op/
  11. It seems kind of squirrely to me if they make it mandatory to buy through them. It probably makes it much easier for compliance though. My tentative date is August 19 with Dr Nagel. We should definitely keeping touch! I have an appointment with Dr. Nagel or Dr. Baker (whichever one is available) next Wednesday, the 2nd; tentative sleeve surgery date is June 16, at McLaren Health. 3 months away......seems sooooo long I'm ready for this now.
  12. That is really awesome!! We have a classic camaro that I really want to drive this summer, but I think I'll wait until NEXT summer, when I'm thinner (sleeve should be June 16th this year). I told my daughter I wasn't driving the camaro this summer because I'm not good enough for it. She gave me a sad little smile and a shake of the head; she thinks I'm nuts...but it really IS how I feel Good for you on getting a spiffy new car for your spiffy new self!
  13. Good luck to you all; I'll be waiting for updates! Mine is tentatively scheduled for June 16.
  14. And I am tompkinsw; I've sent friends requests to you all!
  15. Isn't that a new weight loss drug? I wouldn't think most of these people in this post-op forum would have need of weight loss drugs. Or am I missing something. ?
  16. Very good reading here. I'm tentatively scheduled for June 16th, so am using the time until then to gain as much knowledge as I can about all aspects of this. I'm so glad I joined this site; I think I'll get lots of good advice and support here!
  17. Ok, I just signed up with MFP. My user name is tompkinsw if anyone would like to add me as a friend.
  18. Does anyone use either of these programs? I've been using LoseIt! for quite some time, but I have no "buddies" on there because most people use other programs. I really don't want to start over with a new program, because I've got a lot of time invested in inputting my own recipies, foods, etc into LoseIt, but if there are more people using MyFitnessPal maybe I should think of switching.. ? I think that after I have my sleeve done in June that all the support I can get will be lots of help. Thoughts?
  19. Hope things get better for you, and that you get to go home soon!
  20. Prayers to you that you will definitely have better days ahead!
