    3rd day post op question

To me that is your new 'full' feeling. At least it is for me. I had my band placed on Feb 14. I had no Fluid in my band at surgery, so it subsided by week 6 when I went for my first fill this past week, and now that feeling is back when I eat.

I got on the scales today....I lost 7.5lbs this week for a total of 39.3lbs. Happy dance!!!! (I lost a little over 2lbs from last Sunday morning to Wednesday night....Tuesday I got the overfill and couldn't eat. I lost an additional 5.5 since Wednesday night)

My doctor apologized profusely. He said it's not often someone gets that tight on their first fill. He said I may be lucky and find my green zone a lot sooner. On an upside, according to dr scales, I lost almost 3lbs in 48 hrs. Lol!

    February 2014 bandsters?

It is TONS better. And here is a breakdown of what happened: Tuesday 11am: fill of 4 cc...drink half of Water they gave me in small sips, lots of bubbles/gurgling with each sip. Felt exactly like the recovery room after surgery feeling. Not coming out of my ears (sarcasm) so this should be ok. Noon: drive thru panera bread and pick up 3 cups Soup, 2 tomato, 1 French onion. Stop in parking lot, get about 3-4 spoons and lots of gurgles, not really hungry. Make the 2.5 hr drive home. Get home about 4pm (stopped for some shoe shopping prior), finish the tomato soup I started. Slowly. Go take daughter to softball practice. Return home at 8:30pm, try the French onion...2 spoons and it comes up within minutes. Tried ice water, slowly, it goes down. Go to bed. Wednesday 6:30am-11am finally got down half of my 11oz Protein drink. Every drink was gurgles and burps. No lunch, not feeling it. 2pm-4pm have 3 spoons of line sherbert shake, thinking the cold would help possible swelling. It stays down and I think hey maybe we are getting better. 6pm, try the 2nd tomato soup...no go. It came back up after about 2 oz. Tried grape juice, 4 oz, comes back up in 15 mins. Drank more ice water (not much) , went to bed. Thursday morning (today) drink ice water 6:30 am on my way to work. Probably 3 sips. Lots of gurgles. Get to work, thinking I may need to call doctor at 9am. Try one last ditch effort with coffee...added sugar and creamer (haven't had anything basically since Monday night)...drink about 3 oz and it comes back up. Call doctor, def wants me to come in today. Make the drive and arrive about 2pm. He removes 1cc....Heaven. I could drink the water effortlessly. Went back to panera bread, order same Soups...ate French onion first and could eat the entire cup. Success! Full until after 8pm. Drive back home. CRAZINESS!!!

Ok so....I just left the dr office for an unfill of my first fill. I will explain later what happened but 4cc was too much. Now at 3cc and worlds of difference

    February 2014 bandsters?

Way to go!!! I also got my first fill today. 4cc is what he put in. Definitely feel like I did the day after surgery. Which is a good thing...zero fill was getting tough. I did manage to lose a little more than 4lbs in the past 4 weeks. Last week was zero....and only like 1.3 and 1.2 the 2 weeks before that. But it WAS a loss. Nurse said that several come in the first fill appt with a small gain because of the no restriction. So, that definitely made me feel better. Looking forward to getting on that losing hill again. Oh, I forgot...I didn't even feel the needle.

    Imperforate Hymen surgery

This is a shot in the dark for me. I can't post on my normal social media outlets to make sure someone doesn't try to ridicule. Has anyone here had personal experience with an imperforate hymen? Our 16 yr old daughter had emergency surgery to 'fix' hers and she is in quite a bit of pain and embarrassment. She keeps asking how long she is gonna be in pain....this is only about 48 hrs past surgery and she had pain of 7 out of 10 when I came home this afternoon. "I" have had knee surgery, 2 c-sections, hysterectomy thru my c-section scar, and the lapband. I 'know' how recovery is....however I cannot relate to her particular procedure. The surgeon said it is a lot like an episiotomy recovery, only that it's not a superficial cut. Any advice or suggestions from anyone that has experienced this procedure before?? Luckily (for lack of better words)....this has happened over spring break and she hasn't had to face any of her friends.

Thank you. She has finally graduated to the living room today....makes me very happy, even if we have to watch cheerleading movies. Congrats on your success so far.

    February 2014 bandsters?

Did my weekly weigh in on my wii fit. I lost 1.3lbs this week for a grand total of 32.3lbs down since 10 days before surgery. (13.5 since surgery on feb 14th) I go for my first fill on April 1st. I am ready as I find myself being able to eat pretty much what I want, still moderating it....but I miss the restriction I felt in the beginning.

    Imperforate Hymen surgery

Thank you. And I am supporting her in every way that I can. Luckily we took her to the children's hospital E.R. and when we figured out what was wrong (her issue was she couldn't urinate at all) after sonograms of everything in her abdomen and even kidneys, they had a pediatric gynecologist come in and she was amazing, as well as her partner. Every staff member we had were actually amazing and so caring and understanding to her....she even said on the way home that she was so glad we went there to figure out what was wrong. She goes back Monday for a follow up and then 2 weeks after that. I am just really hoping tomorrow is a better day than today. And after that. Sigh....it sucks when your kids hurt.

    Imperforate Hymen surgery

Lol...yeah, I know it's kinda unexpected. But I was hoping that with the amount of people here I could find a couple or so that might have the experience. I am sending you a pm. Thanks.

    February 2014 bandsters?

I am on the mobile app and it just has a little blue down arrow I can click and it's one of the choices to edit I ended up calling my medical assistant to the surgeon today. Apparently one of the dissolvable stitches is 'spitting' out at the end of my largest incision....she said that it's pretty common and that it will fall off on its own (when the part still buried in skin dissolves completely). I can either make the 2.5 hr drive for her to cut it off (it's barely poking out) or I can just keep it clean and dry and wait it out. I go back on the 1st for my first fill, she said if it's still there she will get it off. Just wanted to share.

I have my calories between 800-1200 a day depending on the day. My protein is 65-80 a day. 300 is definitely low. I found these pre mixed jewels at Walmart and this particular flavor is pretty good. (Chocolate fudge)

Mine isn't until April 1st and my hunger seems to grow as the evening comes.... How much have you lost since surgery day? 12 lbs for me (only lost 1lb this past week) and my surgery was Feb 14.

    February 2014 bandsters?

Good luck on the April 1 date! That is my first fill date!! I am doing good. I noticed that I wore the same tshirt to work today that I took some before pics in on day 1 of the pre-op 10 day diet. Definite difference in one month plus a few days. This is an XL tshirt.

    February 2014 bandsters?

Just an update. 2 weeks plus 1 day since surgery. I am feeling pretty great. I lost 6lbs in week 1...and this past week I didn't lose or gain. I know it's because I didn't eat enough....my body was hanging on. However I started mushy food yesterday and I am getting my Protein count so far. That will help I am sure. Saturdays are my designated weigh day. I go for my first post-op appointment this coming Tuesday. How are the rest of our February bandsters doing??
