  1. Well that is good then lol... I am on something similar to you. It's called the sugar busters diet. I can have 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. I can't have anything with sugar in it but I can do sugar free foods. I can also do low fat dairy products and 100 percent whole grains. I started last week though so I can get used to the diet and eating like this after surgery. I've lost 5 pounds so far and I keep my calories under 1200.
  2. Everything is fine here and I'm feeling really good on my pre op diet. My surgery is on Vday as well. Hope you are managing well on your new diet :-)
  3. What preop diet are you on if you don't mind me asking?
  4. oh nice! Dr. Chris Smith is my doctor and I will have my surgery at Phoebe north. I have to drive 1 hr and 45 mins to get there. Oh and you can't go wrong with the ninja :-)
  5. I have a ninja and I got the one that came with the big blender and 2 individual cups. When I make my shakes I use the cups. I love the ninja. What part of GA do you live at? I live outside of Columbus and Ft. Benning. My doctor is Albany, GA

  12. Hi everyone! I had my pre-op appointment today and met my surgeon. He did not put me on a liquid diet though. I will start the "Sugar Busters diet" and will be on this for the next 3 weeks. I am allowed 3 meals a day and fruit for snacks. Has anyone else been on this diet? He also said my port will be inserted through my left armpit and will be placed in the area close to my shoulder.
  13. Congrats! Looks like I am right behind you and we will start this chapter together!
  14. thank you so much and congratulations on your success. I'm ready to make the lifestyle changes I need to keep my band (when I get it) working. I will keep you updated. I don't have many friends, so I need all the support I can get.

  18. Hi everyone. I will have my surgery on Valentines Day! I can't wait :-)
  19. Thank you everyone for the replies. I enjoyed all the feedback and I been reading and following all the different threads. I also been reading and doing research. I already started making lifestyle changes to help me after surgery. I bought a sippy cup and I now use a baby spoon. I also been chewing my food more and taking smaller bites. It is really hard to break bad habits but I will not give up. I also been trying different protein shakes. Thanks again everyone!
  20. This is pretty much the same thing as me. My first appointment was on the 8th. My pre op is on the 23rd and my surgery is on Valentines Day. I'm excited too and nervous at the same time.
  21. Hi everyone. I am a new to this forum and to the whole banding wls. My journey has really went very fast for me. My doctor brought up getting weightloss surgery back in December since I have a bad back. I went to a nutrition class in January and had my first assessment last week. 2 days after my assessment, my insurance company approves my surgery. I have my pre op appointment next Thursday and then surgery is set on Valentines day. Any tips or advice for the pre op diet and post op period? I still can't believe this is all happening within a months period.
