Cheese sticks were my friend too. And the Oscar Meyer brand of lunch meat has no sugar in it. I would use lettuce as my bread and do a ham and turkey cheese roll up. (No sliced processed cheese )

You can have oatmeal if it is the old fashion kind. I added cinnamon and 1 pack of Splenda to it. The bread has to be 100 percent whole grain and sugar free. I also found mayo that was sugar free and would make tuna fish sandwiches too. I had to learn how to be creative.

I had eggs and toast some days. At walmart they have a 100% whole bread that is sugar free too. Natures own is the brand name. Sometimes I did old fashion oatmeal and cooked it in unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I would also sauté zucchini, tomatoes, and onions then pour scrambled eggs on top

Glad you're feeling better today. I'm still sore in my tummy area too and out of breath. I'm also very hungry still. I just try to drink all day since I have no restrictions.

I love my heating bad. I pretty much turn it on when I sit back down or lie down. I just hate how I'm so hungry on the one week clear liquids diet.

I don't think it will at all. I think it will be easier to hide too. I did pretty good on the sugar busters diet. I stuck with it and stayed under 1200 calories. I lost 12 pounds during preop and I even had pizza and Taco Bell one time during the diet. He said my liver had no fat on it.

I think the soreness is much worst than the gas pains. Getting in and out of bed or just trying to stand up from sitting is where all my pain is. Get you some gas x strips and walk. The gas pain did not hurt me. It was just very uncomfortable. I could feel it move from one side of my body to the next

You're welcome! The cut is right under my armpit and it's not sore at all. It stays out of the way. I don't have to worry about pants rubbing against it either.

Day 2 post op was really hard for me. I was in a bunch of pain and my tummy would not stop rumbling. Today is day 3 and I'm not in as much pain. I'm still weak and out of breath. I'm not as hungry though and I continue walking around the house to help with gas.

My port is right under the heart tattoo.

Dr. Smith put mine in my chest too. I just got banded on Vday. I think I like my port in my chest.

Hi ladies dr. Smith did my surgery on Valentines Day. I also had a hiatal hernia that he fixed as well. I live in Phenix city al which is about 2 hours away.

I can have any clear liquids like chicken or beef broth, jello, Popsicles, coffee, and fruit juices. I'm on clear liquids for a whole week. I hope this gets easier.

My tummy won't stop rumbling either! It rumbles so hard that it hurts.

You are so lucky! I can't have protein shakes until week 2. I'm starving over here :-(

Banded yesterday with a hiatal hernia repair. Got home from the hospital today at 4 pm. I'm in pain but the liquid lortab seems to be working. My throat is a little sore from the breathing tube and I just seem to be freezing.

oh ok then. I'm in Phenix city AL. Right outside of Fort Benning, GA. I will start my journey on Valentines Day

Congrats on your surgery and happy to hear you are doing good. I also have tricare prime in the southern region. Where are you located?

Good luck everyone! Mine is Friday as well! I'm super excited and I've lost 10 pounds already from my pre-op sugar busters diet. I'm very motivated at this point :-)

Every doctor is different. With that said I was not told to stop drinking coffee and it's on my list of clear drinks I can have the 1st week post op. I can have it the 2nd week with creamer. They only said no to carbonated drinks which I do not drink anyways.
