  1. Ty soccermom I will keep that at top priority. I hate to puke and when I had lap band I had struck episodes of the clam skin and fast heart rate.. so I'm familiar with this and hate it!
  2. Funny thing is I always ate these staple foods. My problem with weight started at 41, now being 45 I was over weight due to a hysterectomy and quitting smoking. I have always jogged 7 miles a day and when I stopped jogging and lost my hormones and cigs I upped my portions... I'm about the only one I know that can build a 2000 calorie salad! Lol so at 220 I had lap band... body rejected at 175#, reversed and was at 190#... so had this done. I have learned so much from you all. I'm only 9 days post op and still getting info. Ty for your post, you seem very strong, I might need you! Lol I have cried a few times!
  3. Well sure it is wise, why not? What's it matter what it taste like as long as it's not bad for us?
  4. Why did cream of wheat make you dump? I'm scared of dumping too. I'm 9 days post op and had a mini dump of just poo and almost puke from dipping juice broth from chicken dumplings, . I assumed it was from the fat because I didn't eat anything
  5. Good luck! Will be happy to see you on the other side! I'm 9 days post op,, if you need anything let me know. Stay in hospital as long as they will keep you, it's just easier! Let us know how you are doing. Take chapstick and lotion!
  6. Cherryhair I'm only 9 days post op but husband who is 1 yr out said that when his pouch doesn't like something one day, it's sensitive for days. You might have upset it with little warning,. Hope you feel better but in the meantime enjoy the weight loss
  7. I used zofran under the tongue too
  8. My husband is a year out. He hit his make 8 months after surgery losing 90 lbs. He still can't eat meat at all and stopped trying after puking ribs for 3 days after a BBQ. He has lived off crackers and chips (not good on chips but still lost the lbs) he is happy around 220 and eats larger potions or normal potions I should say. Strange part is he can have any amount of sugar he wants and it doesn't bother him
  9. No rice yet but a few month down the line. Its the cabbage and cilantro that makes the taste
  10. My nausea was like that the first week. I'm in my second week and hungry. Slurped some broth from chicken dumpling soup (just broth) and almost puked last night. Must have been the fat. We will make it through this! Just keep putting those feelings out there!
  11. Not sure what happen last night. All I can blame it on was too much chicken broth. I got nauseous about 30 minutes later, diarrhea, almost puked.. took a nausea pill and forced myself to get on the bed. Was that dumping? I'm only 10 days post op and had nothing like that. My broth had fat in it.
  12. Don't be nervous, get excited!! I will watch for you to post Monday and hope it goes great. Eat something awesome today! I had Mexican food 2 days pre op...that is if your allowed, I was. Hope to hear from you!
  13. I am only 10 days post op and still on liquids but I see these tiny meals ( a egg and 2 berries) and was wondering if that is how small our pouch is or is it the portion control diet
  14. My surgery was Jan 9. I have enjoyed reading your story and well post mine next... but I think I need a nap first lol! !
  15. Just wondering why most I see on the board has surgeries months away. Took 4 weeks from my first visit to have mine and my husband too. When I decided to reverse lap band it was 3 wks and then had to heal a month. Just had my last surgery (bypass.) A month later
  16. EAS at Wal-Mart, pre mixed strawberry is the best
  17. If your just out of surgery and need a new broth try this.. chicken cabbage Soup Boil 1 chicken 1 chopped cabbage Chopped carrots Chopped potatoes Cup of cilantro (must have) Power or liquid chicken broth Boil, debone, enjoy Depending on your step you can drink the delicious cabbage juice or even try some of the veggies and chicken. I also make home made Mexican rice and put a spoon in it. This was my diet soup before surgery and awesome after.
  18. If u have trouble with sugar substitutes it's normal and give it 3 tries. . They made me sick at first too, per my doc I tried again. Also, if u can't stand hello (because I couldn't) wait a few days and try it room temp. Cold hard hello makes me feel bad due to the texture. I think we will find its not only taste but textures,.. God I feel pregnant
  19. Sure, my husband is 1 yr out and he has pizza. He just eats a normal portion
  20. I had the same issue with prescription med. Doc said but adult Tylenol liquid. I did and works better than other. If you chase it with mio or something flavored the taste won't stick to your tongue. BTW get used to aweful tastes and smells, no one warned me!
  21. Do you know where the blood came from? Could be from colon, I had some after surgery 4 days later. It was blood from them working on my intestines and normal for us to pass. Or could be from Cath, I passed some on day 2. But the important part is to have you doc do a cbc to see if this is new bleeding or old. I hear so many having complications and their doc should have done a simple blood test to check for new bleeding and infection. A cbc will tell them that. Also watch your heart rate isn't over 120. I too have had a hysterectomy and any type of vaginal bleeding is not normal but I am not sure that's where it's coming from. Stay in touch
  22. We are the same. I called and ask for something more, they said we can get clear protein powder and add it to our broth, it has helped. Remember our docs are being strict to keep us from puking... oh and go get your favorite soup and drink the juice. I do it daily!
  23. Did they do the removal and bypass in one surgery? My doc did mine separate and I hated that.
