  1. Their gonna kill me if they read this...lolol...Im called the "food nazi' around my house
  2. It is a LIFE TIME..the rest of your life..till you reach old age and beyond. Are you mentally ready at your age for that kind of responsibility. I went threw this together with 2 out of my 3 daughters . We're all 4 years out..my 28 yr old daughter is a envelope pusher as is my 34 yr old. They have a tendency to stay focused only when their weight skyrockets. They, unlike me, can eat just about anything. I ask them if they've vitamined today, sometimes they do, sometimes they foget, or were to busy to get them in, they'll do it later..I see them eating things I would NEVER consider, like 'Sides' at restaurants..mayo, etc..lts not all bad, but their so young I understand wanting to try new carb filled foods or old foods. They say things like "I just took a couple of small bites MOM,".Just saying. LIFE TIME COMMITMENT!!
  3. OMG!!! I JUST SAID THIS TO A FRIEND THE OTHER DAY!!!!!!...This saying should be 'granitized' on a bench in every town & city on the planet!!!!...lololol..I use it when ever the situation calls for it..and in a lot of my friends love lives??? it comes up alotttttt!!!!...lol
  4. ditto..I live in very rural North Minnesota..love gardening!!.most relaxing, workout worthy and nutritious project ever...AND!! it all gets into my fitness & nutrition log as points!!!..yay!!...win win situation.
  5. I am in no way disregarding the other surgery's..they just as important and do what their suppose to do if you also follow its rules. But I do notice, other surgery people do eat a lot more variety of things ( I do envy that part)..I suppose everyone's different of course. But I surround myself with RNY people because even though were different people, we on the whole, get sick over the same things? curious...I think most of us secretly are still looking for bread that doesn't make us sick...lol..ok maybe that's just me..lol
  6. Although, I have found out, you can TRICK IT.l.oll..sugar free and fat free looking treats it will allow cuz the visual brain is telling it, its about to get something that looks like a 'sweet treat'...lolol..so see, it can be amusing at times..lol
  7. I chose the RNY only because I am a strict 'rule' follower. The pouch needs strict regimens..such as Vitamins in the morning and in the evening for the rest of your life.. it hurts you when you mistreat it...it will disappoint you if you abuse it..it will 'dump on you' if you feed it wrong..I needed the most drastic surgery so that I could fully dedicate and focus on what needs to be done to keep me healthy and fit. RNY leaves no room for error, its an 'either you do or you don't..there's no in between. If you don't follow the rules, you DONT SUCCEED. Its as simple as that. If you cheat it, you cheat yourself..So says the extremeist..lol..Im a drone..lol
  8. Yes indeed..the scale is a tiny measurement on the bigger picture..excellent!! lol..duly noted about giving blood!!...lol.. Pencil sharp and taking notes.. My frig looks like it could be in the Macy's Day Parade as its own 'Motovational Float"!!..I pass a lot of these sayings on to my area WLS support group..so pease keep them coming..you are helping someone else.
  9. PS--> Their not missing out on "love food", their OTHER grandma Kris is a 'baker baker candle stick maker', from WAYYYY back, old school style. So they get 'theirs'
  10. Perfect subject for me..I have changed my 'Love'um with Food' ways towards my family..took them aback at first..but..what I've taken to doing is-->finding out what their fav stores are and gifting 'Gift Cards"..for instance: My Aunt Gladys loves kitchen gadgets, so I carded her with a 'Creative Kitchen' card..she loved it..my daughters love The Gap..my husband loves Man Malls..etc..My grandchildren have their fav stores also. Love the smiles on their faces when they open the envelopes instead of opening their pants after a 10 course meal..lol...works for me!!!! (and their waist lines)
  11. I lost a whole size, I went from a 7 down to a 6..not liking it..I have to watch out so my feet don't look like their 12 years old,,,lolol..hard to find stiletto in six 6, I do, but I have to hunt for them..lol..not a bad thing I suppose??? Oh yeah I'm sooooo wearing spikes again..loving it!!!!
